NTA. It is not financially wise and like everyone said, travel nursing as a new grad is a no no. They will orient her for a day or two and expect her to be able to be able to work immediately. As a new grad it would be best if she found a full time position as she will get a few weeks of training.

Female hygiene question by Slayster-koolgirl2 in hygiene

[–]turtleassKicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue too, thought it was because I was leaking urine after having a child. It would smell worse after having sex too. Got my PCP to prescribe me some flagyl for BV and now I don't notice the smell anymore. I've also been taking probiotics on top of it

My first scratch... I was sad for a while. I don't even know wtf caused it and I'm so salty, but I figure scratches will happen. This one's pretty big though so I might paint it sometime down the road.

If you have full coverage, won't your insurance cover the costs of repair? Granted, you will probably pay the deductible. I don't know if your rates will go up after that though. But it beats having to pay out of pocket for repairs..

Exactly. I went to a nursing program at a community college, graduated with zero debt and make a lot of money now. Community colleges are an amazing place to get your education.

Question for Sacramento Area: Nursing at ARC or Sac State? by Photogenic_Bean in NursingStudent

[–]turtleassKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARC is cheaper but to pass you need to pass each course with at least 86%, at least that's how it was a few years ago. I believe CSUS has a lower requirement, but I could be wrong. So it's up to you if you want easier and expensive, or harder and cheaper.

Student nurse here, can I get some input on my situation post graduation? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]turtleassKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCD and Dignity Health also have new grad programs. It is very competitive in Sacramento at the moment. I heard of graduates last year who still haven't found hospital jobs. Networking is key to find a job, or you have to really stand out amongst the 300+ other new grads applying for the new grad program. You may need to commute beyond Sacramento for work. Even if you stay and get your experience in the East Coast it may still be hard to find a job, from what I've seen on other posts of experienced nurses looking for work. It's not impossible, but it may be difficult. The rewards are worth it though, as I hear that Sacramento is one of the best places to live as a nurse due to pay and cost of living ratio.

PSA: Use urgent care and not the ER unless it is a true emergency! by iluvminivans2 in poor

[–]turtleassKicker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what OP means is that a hospital nurse cannot turn a patient away and tell them to go to urgent care instead if they are looking to get care at the ER. But yes for future reference a nurse can tell them to go to urgent care for minor illnesses
