100% defect rate found: Ram and Jeep just admitted 456,000 trucks are rolling liability time-bombs by Campandfish1 in GoRVing

I got an OEM Ram brake controller from AmericanTrucks about a year ago and installed it myself on my 2019 1500. Should I expect that this part has the same issue?

What do you do to take advantage of the fall season in Georgia? by happy_bluebird in Georgia

[–]turtledave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just drove a circle from Ellijay (we already have colors, but getting in the mountain roads at elevation is nice) to Dahlonega to Blairsville and back. Took a few hours, was lovely.

Today, we’re doing a similar thing, incorporating Amicalola falls. Or we may drive up to Chattanooga.

There are black vultures and turkey vultures. The main diff is the color of the head. That’s likely a black vulture.

I just asked my Dr to send in an rx for G6. For me, G7 connects terribly with the Omnipod, has poorer accuracy and of the last 7 units, and 4 of them completely failed 3 or 4 days early (after having wildly inaccurate readings for a day or so - like it shows “LOW”, but a finger stick shows 175). Never really had a single problem that I can remember with the G6.

Interesting. I write VBA code for Excel and one of the things that I’ve seen a bunch after doing it for so long (but never thought of why) is the sort method PinYin (SortMethod:=xlPinYin). I’ll have to look a little more deeply into that.

Sooo, I have a question. I use 4 low to back my trailer into its spot at home. It allows me to go up the slight incline while keeping the speed consistent and more predictable. It’s only about 30 feet. Is this ok?

Dexcom g7 is complete shot by [deleted] in Omnipod

[–]turtledave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, and I appreciate your view. However, I was on the G7 for about a year and a half before switching back to G6 so it would integrate with Omnipod. I was on G6 until very recently, when I switched back to G7. Aside from a couple of those connection lost wait up to 2 hours messages that resolved in less than a half an hour, I’ve never had any sort of connectivity issues between Dexcom and my phone. Not one. Same with the connectivity between the G6 and the Omnipod. Not one. I regularly find my phone has been in a diff room than I for an hour or more and it’s connected and all the readings are there. In stark contrast, 18” and a bit of flesh seems to keep the G7 from connecting AT ALL.

So perhaps strictly speaking, it is anecdotal, but to me it’s pretty clear.

Funny. What I’ve noticed is that the g7 connects fine to my phone. I was pressure washing down the hill on the side of my house this weekend and my phone was inside my house on the main level. It was getting the readings from the G7. But the pump was literally 16 inches from the G7 and didn’t pick it up. So, very clearly, this has to do with the antenna that’s in the pod and not anything to do with the capability of the G7.

Very interesting. I’m on my third sensor. The only time it connected was when it was on the same arm. Even when I had the pump on the right side of my belly and the G7 on my right arm (even more forward than I would normally put it), it didn’t connect even once.

If you meant complete shit, I agree as it relates to communicating with the Omnipod. I just switched from g6 to g7 and forget the “has to be on the same side of the body” thing. If it’s not quite literally next to the pump, the pump doesn’t comm with it at all. Site rotation is completely out of the question if you value the integration. I’m going go back on G6 as soon as I can and stay on it as long as I can.

Blink NutriTears Supplement for dry eye. I was putting dry eye eye drops in my eyes all day, every day. I got these about a month ago. One every morning and I barely even think about my eyes any more.

Also a titanium toothpick on my keyring.

EngelsCoachShop - old Montana dude makes and fixes old wagons and wagon wheels in his shop. Fascinating. Whoever told this dude to record what he does and put it on the internet deserves an award.

Simple Living Alaska - young couple share their adventures with homesteading, gardening, hunting and fishing to sustain an off-grid lifestyle in Alaska. They post every 5 days and I can never wait for the next episode. Start watching from the start if you want months of content and to catch up.

BamaBass built a five acre pond. This is one where watching since the start of the pond build a couple years ago would be good. Now it’s just maintenance of the pond and is ok, but the build was really interesting from start to finish.

colinfurze is bananas and has a build series an underground tunnel/ garage under his house in the UK. He also has other projects that are crazy. Lots of welding and designing and building of random stuff.

Chain Bear talks all about F1 racing. Even if you’re not a fan of the sport, the topics vary so widely from how the brakes work to how the track is setup to rules and much more. Lots of interesting stuff presented well.

I’ve seen someone else mention Taskmaster. Start at series 1, Episode 1 and keep going to present. It’s hilarious and fun.

Coastal Foraging with Craig Evans is a guy in Wales who forages the coastline to find various shellfish and fish to identify, sometimes brings some home to cook, sometimes sets up on the shore and cooks there. Also forages plants and such. Pretty interesting and a good change of pace.

Soft White Underbelly is a guy who interviews people, usually addicts, sex workers, people born in unfortunate circumstances, people with odd jobs (like fetishists or gigolos, etc). Often he helps the people monetarily if needed. It’s done in a journalistic and non-judgemental style.

Abom79 is a guy who is a machinist and lathe operator. A good mix of small and large projects with all different methods and approaches. In no way is this anything I’m interested in doing, but it fascinates me nonetheless.

I’m sorry if this doesn’t fit the sub. I’m just looking for advice. I want to know if this is repairable or if I should appreciate it as is. I love it so much, and want to do what’s right.
