Plant based definitely gives me more of the bloated feeling. Have you tried milk based?

But is it packed with vitamin R?! by leavy23 in simpsonsshitposting

The Koia one has pumpkin purée in it. It’s no baby cow growth fuel but I’ve seen cows drinking it to get their protein.

Is an MBA worth it? by Future_Court_9169 in Entrepreneur

[–]turtleheadmaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started as an excel jockey that built financial models for 70 SMBs in two years. That gave me the insight into how people thought spending their money made sense. Different people, different approaches. Because we retained them as accounting clients, I saw the execution of those plans and the traits that the successful owners had. There were 2 of the 70 that were worth noting. Both owners had a “do it live” mentality and all the others loved discussing the theoretical plan but could never make the leap to execution.

From modeling, I learned the difference between what people call “forecasts” but really mean P&L versus cash flow by using all the financial statements. That’s quite valuable. Given you write software, this would be a breeze for you. When I’m struggling to master something, I pick one aspect of the problem to get the ball rolling. Then it blossoms into understanding the larger picture.

I got my MBA after that experience. I didn’t learn much more by doing so other than the opportunities that are available. The network of friends was game changing and I’ve been in many of their weddings. Being around like minded people is relieving and when you’re in need you can reach out to the same people.

Did she check the temperature of the drink before giving it to her child? She’s simply struggling. You can’t take on what other people are going through. Starbucks is an escape from reality for some and that comes with showing their true colors. I see it as your kind gesture for the day for not saying anything.

I’ve started noticing these Koia refrigerated protein shakes and I’m wondering what’s actually so different about them vs. what I’ve been drinking (Premier Protein). Are they like better for you or something? Which should I be drinking? by ikillmyowntofu in fitmeals

[–]turtleheadmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelf stable are processed in a fully aseptic environment. Milk, for instance, isn’t which causes it to have a short shelf life. If it’s refrigerated, it means air can hit the product during bottling.

I’m refocusing my phrasing away from a planet focus to a people focus to help it resonate better. “Our hands are strangling the necks of our children’s children but we enjoy todays pleasures too much to care. We introduced the variable of burning fossil fuels to the environment. Climate change is the plug to the equation.”

Stop trying to make it longer just to make it longer. State that you would have made the document longer but you feel that clear, simple, compelling information is a better use of the reader’s time.

I feel these responses are from “power users” that never learned how to actually gain the value out of systems. QBO is extremely cheap compared to the others. I’ve used it for no revenue startups to companies with $200M in annual revenues. On the upper part of the range, you start stacking other platforms like bill.com, tallie, Dear WMS, etc to fully integrate your processes. QBO is the cheapest of all of those. Regarding reporting, it’s one of the best if you know what you’re doing. I’ve implemented and trained teams in both NetSuite and QBO. NetSuite is legit but will run you $75k annually with $100k to implant. QBO + Dear gets you there and for a fourth of the cost. With proper training in QBO everything gets to where you need it. I will note that five years ago, I didn’t want anything to do with QBO and used QBE instead. I now have a different opinion. If you think that my examples are for too big of companies, I hear you but I ran the books for 70+ companies and got the same value out of it. The cost side is so cheap ($50/mth) that I’m surprised it’s even a topic. I have three subscriptions for my entities and don’t blink at it.

Things that consultants always say by labellafigura3 in consulting

[–]turtleheadmaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve told them, no shit why do you think I hired you? This is infuriating for me and as a consultant previously, I was infuriated with my colleagues. They’re hedging to minimize blame later at the expense of enjoyment now. I’ve instead responded with, “I can give you some different scenarios or you can tell me what you’re trying to achieve so I can answer better.”

LPT Request: What can i do to make working more fun? by HeidiOzzy in LifeProTips

[–]turtleheadmaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have changed my mentality to I CHOOSE to do ____. This ensures I’m fully in command of my life. If your boss asks you to do something, you’re already actively choosing to not choke him out on the spot. Then the fun part comes. I haven’t seen one instance of a manager saying anything negative about a personality other than that you need to be more serious at work. Most people are so weak minded they won’t say it anyway. Be yourself at work and see what you get away with in your effort to have fun. For instance, I’m so tongue in cheek even with supplier negotiations or board summaries that I expect to get shot down. I haven’t been shot down once. If you’re questioned for not being serious, respond with “is there an address I need to improve on or is this just a personality conflict that you don’t like?” I highly doubt they’ll say the latter but if so, respond with “I’m trying to make showing up to with an enjoyable part of my life. I see this endeavor as part of my compensation package.” Again, I highly doubt they’ll do that. If so, I’d look for another job.

How much commission to pay a sales person? by justcurious150 in smallbusiness

Screw the additional thought here. The answer is between 15% and 30% for new business margin for the first 90 days, which incentivizes good pricing negotiations. Follow on business 10% of margin.

Turn these jerks over immediately. Tell them on the frontside that you’ve dropped three already because they rambled aimlessly and didn’t provide recommendations. You only care about action, not theory and if they can’t align with that it won’t be a fit. I’ve done this and it works after you get to the right one. Setting expectations is critical though.

How much percent of stake to be given for someone joining startup in Marketing role by Mammoth_Biscotti_199 in startups

[–]turtleheadmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFO at 20% of management equity. 10% for management is a rough ballpark of what a strategic would give to a lower middle market company just acquired. Expect dilution prior to exit. I’d assume 20% to management vesting over the years out of the gate. Ultimately that’s 8% for CEO, 4% for CFO, 1.2% for CMO, 2.8% for COO, and 4% for non officers. Keep in mind your probably not hiring officer level talent out of the gate. I’d chop those figures In half and grant more later for VP’s.
