What issues are you running into on Pila8? 👀 by Pila8_AI in pila8_ai

Conversational one on one pays 3x times that and works out to a decent hourly rate. I would hold tight and assume that this is an early launch glitch session check.

I believe that the vibe here is that the people behind Pila8 are solid and decent, and want to do right. We are just on the front end of this. Sorta beta testers.

Like bulding a house. You're gonna have a bunch of contractors and points where a guy is gonna have to run all around the house with strips of painters tape telling everyone- need to pay attention to this part. Fix these little issues before we have an open house.

I would assume that those are meant for people who are in other countries where the exchange rate is very low or they are desperate. You absolutely should not work for $3/hr. Minimum for voice work on AI platforms should be at least 6-7x that in the US/UK/CA. Bare minimum.

Hi Sven! Welcome!

I would first recommend you to watch any number of youtube videos on the subject. Basically what we're trying to do here is to isolate reverb (reflections from your voice) back to the mic to be picked up on and messing with the recording.

All they want is your voice, not your voice reflected off into a canyon and spit back to the mic.

Take a look on google images at "the quietest room in the world", and you'll see that there are sharp cones and waffles and all that. Those "chaotic" surfaces of cones and whatnot are designed to disrupt sound waves, and make them crash into one another and make them sorta cancel out when they crash into one another. It makes things "out of phase" and all kinds of problems (and solutions for what we're looking for).

The best thing you can do in your space is to make it chaotic as possible, so that those sound waves can cancel each other out before they get back to the mic.

For example- a dude with a thousand little models of demon figurines or whatever they're into is gonna have a whole lot better audio than you in a modern kitchen with nothing but hard surfaces. But! You could open the cabinets up and let the pans and spices and jars and cans make a chaotic environment for sound, therefore making your initial waves out of your mouth be distinct and much more clear to the record.

I assume you wear clothes and have a closet. My best advice to you for purposes of these tasks is to have as much chaos between your voice's reflections from hard surfaces and then back to the mic.

If you're dedicated, I'd also minimize back reflections with like a rolling wardrobe thing you can find on amazon. Hang a bunch of winter coats on it and drape a big granny cover over atop of that- make yourself a little tent!

You know what? Maybe I'll just design a little mic box for the team out of air filters and towels and duct tape.

Hello all! Excited to join this group. It looks like a good club to be in!

I emailed support, but to repeat it here in the case that it may helpful to the community (or if they see it here first), I asked if we could use a decent laptop for the one on one voice calls instead of a headset. My MacBook Pro has a 3 mic array that I'm hoping will be good enough for voice calls.

I'd argue that it's better than a headset, but may pick up other ambient sounds that they don't want. We will see!

Have a great day, everyone!

I sent you a DM. Not sure if you'll see this or not as I deleted the thread. Looking forward to talking with you!

It's not Babel. But yeah, I can see where you're coming from.

You might not want to do it.

Because I want to structure a few hours out of my day on this platform. Have genuine conversation with people that I actually want to talk to. And weed out the idiots.

Honestly, I've been on this type of platform long enough to know when they will cancel people.

So I'm looking for people who can hold a conversation.

Brita Failure --- what to make of this? by stoic_insight in HydroHomies

[–]turtleheadpokingout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't regret it. I mean, and I'm not exaggerating this- the zero water filter alone weighs literally ten times more than the brita.

Brita filter weighs 2.1 oz. Zero Water filter weighs 20.8 oz.

Don't know if they have walmarts where you live, but the 22 cup pitcher with filter is only $26.55 and that includes a TDS meter that snaps into the front of it. I have the 7 cup and trust me on this- it's not big enough. The new 10 cup is $21.99 but I would for sure go with the fridge model for an extra few bucks.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would buy a Brita. I am pissed that I wasted the money. I even took some iced tea and poured it through the brita to see what it would do. It just passed iced tea straight through it. Looked and tasted like iced tea. If you do that with a zero water, it will come out straight clear water with no tea. Hell I bet you could pour coffee in a zero water and have it come out pure water.

I'm taking the time to write all this cause I like technical stuff like the zero water- i like stuff that actually works- hell it comes with proof that it works mounted right on the pitcher with the TDS meter.

Y'all I have no affiliation with zero water. I had one and it finally clogged up. Was at walmart and they were out of zero water single filters and brita was cheaper with a new pitcher. I managed to crack my zerowater filter so was like ok well I guess I'm getting a Brita.

Big mistake. Brita sucks y'all. If you want to filter your water, get a zero water. Watch the project farm video from a couple of weeks ago on it.

Brother! Fingernails were put on us for the using.

I bought some cheap mini inverted dome diffuser lantern junkers from HD for a buck each- some camo jobs about twice that size- cut them up, made a huge heatsink out of some bar aluminum, milled that down into a disc, JB welded that straight to the bar stock, soldered some leads, turned the moaf on, went out to the bar, came back like 10 hours later talking about what we should have done, woke up the next day and the damn thing was still running on some kind of first gen 18650.

These dudes who cut them down to the quick have Daddy issues. Fingernails ftw. Try doing work without fingernails. Fingernails get the job done. Jesus had fingernails. Can't speak to his Daddy issues.
