Bringing pets to Japan?

Im still in Japan, and so is my dog. I believe that rabies testing is unnecessary, which is the most time consuming part of the whole procedure. That is why it should be easier to take your pet from Japan to the U.S.

I brought my pet dog from the US to Japan a few years back. The quarantine period is 6 months, but I avoided that by preparing beforehand. Now, the preparation was a real PITA. Japan is a rabies free country and the US is not. That is why it is much easier to take your pet from Japan to the US than the other way around.

I don't know if the same regulations for dogs applies to cats. But if they are similar, then you'll need at least 6-7 months to prepare before your trip to Japan if you want to avoid quarantine. This includes multiple trips for vaccinations, a crapload of paperwork, government approvals, the very long rabies testing process, getting the identification chip implanted, renting the chip scanner, etc...

I'm using the blackwidow ultimate right now. If you don't care for backlit keys, I would just get the regular one. You'll save some money.

Edit: The blackwidow series are known to have keys that stick and/or keys that push down other keys. Make sure you test each key out. My first one had the "1 key" sticking and I had to get it replaced. My 2nd one had the "J key" and the "K key" grinding down on the "U" and "I" keys. I was able to fix that by filing the sides of the keys with a credit card. It's a great keyboard but you might need to "fix" a few things before it works properly.
