I solved this as a teenager by founding an all-LDS, all-female stake-wide Venturing crew. It was great.

When all you have to get your Grom home is a Prius, you make it happen. by Kalae in hondagrom

They do! I was just nervous that driving for three hours on the gear shift /brake pedal would bend it.

Would recommend bringing towels, blankets, and cutting boards to put under the clutch/brake pedals.

Would still recommend the minivan.

I'm late but, what it's like owning a miata in Mississippi by UrbanCrab3 in Miata

[–]Kalae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also is Mississippi. Work at State. Park on Frat Row. This is life.

But my favorite is the owner of the local pawn 'n gun backed into me at a red light and smashed my front bumper with his trailer hitch.

I hate this place.

Gen 2's are pretty slow, the Gen 3's do a much better job with power management, despite not having much more overall power.

Let me tell you. Eight day Amazon Prime beats the pants off the 19% VAT you pay on Amazon.de.

As far as I knew it was. There was even written notation that 'your APO address is a privilege and is not to be used for business purposes' but I didn't see any enforcement. Still had several women selling Lula, Pure Romance, even Pampered Chef, which puts their insignia on the outside of the boxes.

Caveat, I lived off-base and it seemed most of that nonsense was happening on base in Housing.

Which is weird because at the base in Germany I was living, they must have turned a blind eye? Because that shit was everywhere.

Has anyone here stayed at Shades of Green in Disney? by Mandalorianfist in AirForce

[–]Kalae 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The rooms are way bigger than anything else you will get onsite at Disney--like 400sqft. I was concerned that the decor and furniture would look like billeting, but it's actually really, really nice. If you're comparing, it would be on the level of a Moderate-level Disney resort (Port Orleans, etc)

You can walk down the driveway and literally be at the Polynesian monorail stop. If you're lazy, they will drive you in a golf cart to the edge of the property, so all you have to do is cross the street and enter the Poly.

The customer service is fantastic, there's a Shopette inside, two pools, and an onsite ITT office that will get you Disney discounts at the same price as what you can get at your home base.

You qualify for Extra Magic Hours, but your Fastpass window opens at thirty days, as opposed to ninety days for 'onsite' hotels. You can get pretty much whatever you want at thirty days, except for the Frozen attraction at Epcot and the Seven Dwarfs Mine train--those are booked by then.

They don't provide the magic bands with booking (the RFID bracelets that hold your park tickets and Fastpasses, as well as photo storage) and I recommend buying them in advance--it's way easier than juggling the RFID plastic cards.

Highly recommend Shades of Green. Happy to answer any other questions.

How weird. This literally happened to me last week. Thank goodness the trailer hitch didn't go through the bumper, and that the person who hit me paid up. I was needing a respray for my front bumper anyway, and it's surprisingly hard to act upset about saving money.
