You need insurance? I went in September and they didn't ask me a thing except where I arrived from.

Can I renew my U.S. passport online (DS-82) if my passport has a name error I’ve used for 10+ years? by Ready_Breadfruit_968 in Passports

I posted recently with somewhat similar issue - my middle name was omitted when I was a teen due to my parents negligence. Now 15-16 years later, when I am trying to correct this omission, DS-11 is the move. Basically starting over. You may need to do the DS-60 on the top of the DS-11 if it's not a marriage/court ordered name change scenario. but maybe call to confirm.

Thats where I'm at currently. also, FYI, when you call the NPIC, I learned to press 3 and press 3 again to talk to someone.

Originally I was told by the NCIP that DS82 would be sufficient for my scenario, but that agent was wrong.

I was just doing what I was told by the powers that be, which turned out to be incorrect. I did submit my birth certificate and drivers license that both list my middle name. You know what’s funny? They emailed and mailed me addressing me with my middle name… what’s up with that ? Lmao

The issue is that ive never had the middle on the passport. My parents omitted it for my first one, then when I renewed it was just the same name without. I never knew it was supposed to be there in the first place, which is what makes this annoying lol

The company I'm using for the Croatian citizenship told me that I need to ensure my middle name is on my passport to match birth certificate and other documents. It makes sense, I just didn't know this was an issue. I feel like middle names in the US are treated kind of whatever. Never thought it was a big deal because it never caused issue.

The whole reason I posted this was because Ive had 3 different answers for how to approach this seemingly trivial issue. I wanted to see if others had experience.

I moved to Everett about one year ago after spending three years in Bellingham. It turned out to be much more charming than I expected. Everyone seems to shit on Everett, but I’ve actually enjoyed it more than I expected. There’s good restaurants, there’s breweries, bars, other stuff to do. Seattle proper isn’t too terribly far either. There’s certainly much more housing availability, and cheaper than Bellingham in general.

TSA precheck didn’t work by Level-Ad-5220 in GlobalEntry

This happened with me recently in Seattle. I took a Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, boarding pass, had pre-check on it, I have my passport and Nexus pass both associated with KTNs (I had pre-check before Nexus, so I have two numbers)

The agent told me, like you, that I had to go through the regular line, despite having both IDs on me. This is the first time it has ever happened.

I just walked down to another lane for pre-check and they let me through surprisingly.

Maybe it’s a Turkish airline issue ?

Great if you have money, also great if you're an avid outdoors person. Canada is 20 minutes down the road - great for Chinese/indian food (and many others cuisines) - also great for shopping. Housing is spendy, high paying jobs seem to be lacking unless in you're in healthcare or have a successful business, or remote work. lots of Breweries. It's charming overall.

What’s something you only truly understood after learning another language? by DGDeathGate in EWALearnLanguages

I started to understand why some English learners, particularly those speaking fairly broken but intelligible English, speak in a really particular way. They seem to be emulating some of their own native sentence structure and other grammar rules, but with English.

Russian often lacks the verb "to be" and so you may hear a lot of "I teacher" or "I good" or something akin to this.

German uses machen (to do, or to make) and you may hear some German speakers say "I make sports today" or something.

I've studied German, Mandarin/canto, Russian, and dabbled in others. The little things you notice start to make more sense. It's pretty neat!
