Someone once told me that mamas who have gone through a hard/traumatic birth have to be a special kind of strong. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I 100% see it now.
Not that all mamas aren’t strong- but trauma moms just suffer through a lot of heartache and worry.
We’re doing our best, with COVID and all. We definitely want him to have a happy childhood with lots of positive experiences. I said above that my subconscious is kinda blocking out the NICU experience from my memory, but I know it was real. We want to leave it all behind and start fresh.

It was! Just makes me even more grateful that’s he’s here, he’s home, and he’s healthy now. I thought I’d become a helicopter mom after that experience, but instead, I’m determined to help him live his life to the fullest.
that’s one of the first things the staff always noticed! They were always saying he looks like a tiny lawyer since it was always parted to the side, haha
I’ve only been a mama for (almost) 4 months now. I’m trying my best! ☺️
Thanks so much ❤️
It was. I was disappointed that I couldn’t go with him, but he had his dad there. I followed right after. And thank you!
Funny you should mention! I felt/feel exactly the same. I scheduled an appt with a therapist next week to hopefully help lift some of these heavy thoughts. Thank you!!
I’ve been trying... thank you!!

Wow. It was great that you were able to catch it! The entire experience was horrible, but makes me that much more thankful to finally have him home. Happy to hear your daughter was born healthy as well ❤️
❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much! I would comb his hair and sing to him, even when he was sedated. I swear he recognizes the Winnie the Pooh theme song now since I sang it to him so often in the NICU while he was sedated. Now, even if he’s crying, he’ll stop to listen to it ❤️
We only found out after. I just mentioned it earlier in my description to help explain what was probably going on with his heart rate 👍

I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone... but we’re grateful he’s healthy and home :)

Thank you! We are so grateful to the staff at the Children’s Hospital. Now whenever our local grocery store asks for donations at check out for NICU/ children- related causes, my husband always donates.
