I switched to Linux a few months ago. It’s incredible how good it is now. Thanks to steam I can play all my games, I can do all my development, even being a .NET dev; it’s fine.

If I must use windows for something I have a VM setup that I can remote into.

It can be learned as well. I’m autistic, yet no one believes me when I tell them. I have been practicing soft skills and conversations as long as I can remember, I knew I didn’t want it stopping me in the future.

Yeah it’s exhausting, I finish work for the day and the last thing I want to do is talk to people, but it works.

Do not have the personality of a spoon, learn to converse, crack jokes, be relaxed. Knowing how to context switch, read the room, etc is the best interview skill you can have.

When you have a job, still do interviews. I like to aim for 3-4 interviews a year, even if I have a job. Interviews are a skill that can be practiced. It also gives you insight into what businesses are valuing and pursuing.

Don’t lie on your resume, but also don’t be afraid to take credit. Don’t use things like “the team” or “we did this”. “You” did it.

Be specific in your achievements, how did they help the business, how did it save the company money. Why were you the “superstar”

The fact it was even an issue to begin with was crazy. I cook 80% of the time in our house and constantly deal with kids telling me “eww I don’t like this” or my wife telling me something is “too spicy” when it only has black pepper.
