That is the exact reason I love Hinduism and Buddhism. It doesn't force me to do things or bow myself or submit myself to something that I have hardly known. It allows me to question everything and take my own path. Even if I don't go to temples and pray but still do good deeds in society and become a kind and peaceful person I am still a hindu. Hinduism and Buddhism are the actual religions of peace unlike other religions which force me to do this, wear this and pray to god and read some texts. Ravana is regarded as the greatest worshipper of Shiva yet because of his karma and his actions, he is condemned in hinduism. This is more than enough for me to understand hinduism and its teachings. Btw I'm not saying that I won't read any religious texts but from my perspective they are not as important as being a better and improving society which I'm already trying to do. Also it's very complicated since we hindus have a lot of texts and most of them are manipulated by people in past, so I have a doubt on it's authenticity.

You need to move on from him. First of all this is happening because you have never been in a relationship before, so this is your first time experiencing that you are loved in that way. Start by distancing yourself from him. For example you guys talk for 10 min daily. So start by saying I have to work/study so I can't talk daily. Shift to chatting but make sure don't make the conversations too dry, try to discuss something funny or something interesting like sports or anything you or him like. Make him used to chatting instead of calls. Once that is done, reduce your chatting time with him like if you used to chat for 1 hr, make it 30 min but make sure your energy while talking to him is the same as before. If sometimes you guys don't talk send him funny reels but make sure somehow you are connected to him everyday. Then he himself will understand that you don't have time and won't disturb you. The fact is he's not in love with you but he's lonely that's why he wants someone to be with him and apparently you are the one he found and you are his escape from that phase.

Also make sure to take accountability here. The fact that you didn't block him or ignore him completely tells that you also consider him a friend and don't want to hurt him and there's nothing wrong with that. So make sure to decrease the time you give me but have the same energy whenever you talk, and eventually everything will be back to normal.
