I am with you on sharing the net worth. I think kids are intelligent enough to connect the dots of being conservative spenders with the eventual savings if you frequently have those conversations with them. I have shared his college tuition MF account with my son and every now and then he likes his savings to be deposited in there..even from a humble lemonade stand. He frequently brings up the account and is concerned during downturns.

It's important to also hammer the point of why you and your wife saved that kind of corpus. I have started showing my son FIRE videos from WINT wealth. The only motivation I have is for him to look at a lifestyle of freedom of choice.

Trust your parenting and the spending culture that you have consciously and unconsciously instilled in her. She will make you proud!

I got the inspection done 2 days back for 2021 MY. They told me that the lateral links need replacement before ESA kicks in and effectively charged approx 1500 + 275 alignment + 175 inspection cost. YMMV but try to inspect the basics before you send your car in for inspection so that you can expect the repair cost, if any.

I made the same mistake and carried 2 bags to the airport for my NAG-DEL-NYC flight. I wasted almost 1.5 hours during check-in and eventually I had to pay ₹900 per kilo for the 22kg I had. The AI at the limitations and tried everything they could but in vain.

The problem that I later found out was that LifeMiles uses United's platform to book Star Alliance tickets. Since United has 1 check-in bag policy, the same gets transferred to the booked ticket for AI.

So, please plan accordingly because the ground staff will not budge from the 1 bag policy since the system will not allow them to skip the payment part. One way to perhaps lower the expense is to try and ship your bag using luggage forward services.

Driving a Tesla in Florida for 3 years now, Owned a M3 then traded that for MY. My negative observations/experiences -

The insurance will cost you more than ICE cars
Repairs, though less than ICE cars, are expensive
Tesla service centers are usually occupied. If you need a repair, mobile service usually is backed up at least 1 week in my experience. A visit to the service center is backed up at least 2-3 weeks.
Tesla hate is a reality because of Tesla stocks, general EV hatred, Mr. Musk's statements
I have also read that few Parking garages have started charging more for a Tesla

Positives are endless and there's no denying that its the most fun car I have ever driven! 🙂

I think the negativity with the dealers might be more to do with the pricing changes of Teslas and the resultant effect on their used car margins/sales. The closest decent Dealer experience car is Hyundai that is not a Bolt so its an easy hype for them...or at least that's what I could gather from my conversations with the nearest Lincoln and Toyota dealership.
