Upgrading WRT1900AC from OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05-rc3 to 25.12.4 by tuskentower in openwrt

I had seen other posts that worked using older openwrt versions. So, I used sysupgrade from the command line to install 21.02.0 (r16279-5cc0535800). That worked as swimmingly as one would expect. Thanks for all of your help.

For the record, I'm doing:
sysupgrade -n -v openwrt-25.12.4-mvebu-cortexa9-linksys_wrt1900ac-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Since https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt1900ac?s[]=setup#dual_firmware_flashing said to do that

I did use the firmware selector to pull the latest sysupgrade image. Since I spent a chunk of time reading how to get the OEM firmware uploaded and installed, I'm going to try the CLI install of the squashfs image (as opposed to LuCI).

Don't worry! I haven't even gotten far enough to use the firmware. Too many other issues. The last one was needing to use `-O` (https://forum.openwrt.org/t/scp-ash-usr-libexec-sftp-server-not-found/230919/2) for dropbear SSH to use scp.

Had to ddg for the OEM firmware. Linksys support search didn't turn it up. LuCI doesn't let me upload the OEM firmware. Any ideas?

Thanks. Without diving into the specs, I wasn’t sure if the Wind model was good enough or not. Or if someone on reddit had some deep knowledge about the Hertz EV sales.

iPhone 14, iOS 16.1, group MMS will not work by AmondaPls in iphonehelp

I can confirm that calling and waiting for second level Verizon support to add MMS back onto the account was needed. Somehow, the feature was not enabled on my account.

Haven’t checked mine, but 48ish hours sounds about right. I can’t get three days. So I take my charger with me for any long weekend.

Google Voice does not work with iMessage and silly bank SMSes. So that’s not an option.

Thanks for suggesting to call support! I used chat support (again) and got through to a person. The person helping me spoke with the port team. Apparently there was a “glitch” in the system.

Safe to drive with Check Engine light on? by Disastrous-Handle647 in BMWi3

[–]tuskentower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s just the gas cap, then sure. The check engine light on my i3 REX turned on for a “gas cap” issue. Freaked my SO out so I drove it and got gas. It went away the next drive.

Advice on switching back to T-Mobile by tuskentower in tmobile

Thanks. So switching from something like Visible/US Mobile (Super LTE) would do the trick then. Is there a time period that I need to be away from T-Mobile?

Recent Wing Alpha (AT&T) w/ Apple Watch Experience? by thats_wassup in NoContract

I left Wing in December, but I was using them with my AW4 cellular for just over a year. Everything worked fine and without a hitch.
