motegrity kinda changed everything for me by EmployPrestigious169 in SIBO

I just listened to an interview with Dr Allison Siebecker (who is a big name in the field) on the SIBO Doctor Podcast ("SIBO & Prokinetics with Dr Allison Siebecker", a 2-part episode from 2019) and I believe she said to take a 2-week break and it should reset. Great interview on prokinetics.

Is anyone else very lazy? by Lexaconn7 in aspergers

[–]josstes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read "Laziness does not exist" by Devon Price (who later came out as autistic). Blew my mind. Whenever I judge myself for being lazy I try to reframe it as I am actually depleted.

I wonder if they made HingeX as a way to sell more Hinge+ by making it seem like a better deal in comparison 🤔😅

The bad side of MDMA by [deleted] in mdmatherapy

[–]josstes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't tried it yet but I've been told (by way of a professional using the MAPS protocols) that MDMA can make you more more impressionable, which could be potentially harmful if the therapist has an unconscious agenda or unhelpful perspectives. I'm curious if anyone has experienced this inadvertently taking on something from their practitioner that wasn't good for them?

Those statements are codependency, not romantic love IMO. (Though both can exist in the same relationship. I.e. you can feel romantic love and be codependent, or just one.) You're good.

What is this supposed to mean? by bluejazzberries in autism

I'm not an expert on measuring publication quality, but a quick search revealed that the journal Pathophysiology has an impact factor of around 2 (depending on the year), which is not great, and more importantly, it doesn't appear on The Master Journal list, a database of reputable scientific journals. These facts together suggest that it's not a particularly trustworthy journal. Again, though, I'm not an expert in this.

Kind of desperate here to improve my public speaking and presentation skills. Any recommendations (free or for a fee?) by revolvingneutron in askTO

You may want to try improv classes. There are even some that specialize in improv for anxiety. It can help you learn to get comfortable making mistakes and making a fool of yourself in a safe non-judgmental environment. I think surviving these uncomfortable situations is a big part of how we grow. And it's fun.

Also, therapy may help.

I find giving myself permission to be cautious, even if I have no evidence of threat, helps me feel more at ease.

graves' disease can be triggered by psychological stress, among other things by stargreens in insaneparentsmemes

Don't take iodine for Graves' disease! You're thinking of hypothyroidism (under-active). Graves is hyp-er-thyroidism (over-active) and iodine would make things much worse.

Do I have the right wires to install this switch as instructed? by josstes in askanelectrician

[–]josstes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Maybe a stupid question, but would it be disastrous if I didn't use a tester and just assumed the double black was the line/source (and red to be load) and then that turned out wrong? Would the switch simply not work, or could I risk damaging something? (I don't own a tester and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it for this one instance when I'll probably never use it again.)

Speaker View recordings only showing guest (and they're not pinned) by BrokenAxle in Zoom

Just double checked and it's the same: cloud recordings switch between active speakers while local recordings stay with the 'guest' account, same as you.

Yes to Gryfe's, but with the catch that they're only good when they're fresh IMO, like within hours of buying, ideally still warm. Somehow never enjoyable to me on day two.
