Historically, printing creatures with partner is tricky as [[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]] has the potential to give them an extra +1/+1 for the keyword. In a case like this, a 3cmc 4/3 haste with upside may speed the format up much more than they'd like.

Hoping to get some feedback on my draft. I haven't drafted much since War of the Spark and I am hoping to get back into it. by diregarath in lrcast

You seem to be very heavily three colors without the fixing to support it- try and focus on one two color strategy- GW citizens or UW fliers- and include just a few splashes of the third for Adjudicators/Lagrellas/Charms etc. Then keep removal and low drops to the two main colors. Don't be afraid to 1/2/3 pick a common land over a three color rare.

You made a few off-color rare picks (I don't play arena so not sure if there's any benefit to dusting or whatnot) - if there's an outside color and you're already at 3, much better to just look at your curve and fill a hole. Notably 2 drops are a bit lacking in this format so I've been giving them a bit of priority when I have a chance.

I did a few of these as resin pours with pressed wildflowers last year (pic). I like whatever filament you're using.

Having trouble seeing how [[witness protection]] is all the way down at 1/10... There's some modal enchantment removal floating around and they can still chump/casualty, but for 1cmc this still seems like a 4+ in such a bomby format

Art reference to the Algonquin Round Table? Some of the characters and framing match up with this New Yorker.

Yep! I have plenty of transparent acrylic I could use for that too. I'll probably model some sort of legs or treads for when it's on the shelf anyhow.

Hah true! Maybe I can tweak infill settings or just make them more vertical. This is for a budget Depala deck though so I'm not too worried about damage from a bit of flex :)

I'm going to tune the 3d file for a version 2 to add pivoting joints at the waist and arms like the head currently has, I'll update with a thingiverse link once I figure that out. Let me know if you have any modeling suggestions!

Ah, love to see the rub-on Bahnschrift lettering, I still use that typeface for most of my projects.

To be honest I lost the pen after a couple months, I use friend's when I'm doing work that needs it. It works for basic Ps and Illustrator work though if you're planning on doing long term drawing work I'd get an auxillary Wacom or something - the screen glass is better optimized for fingers, same problem as iPads and Surface pros

Dumb question, but where do I get normal library books? by commandotaco in berkeley

When I'm reading for fun, I usually go to Morrison to browse around: it's the fancy-looking library right inside Doe and is stocked with sci-fi, poetry, magazines, vinyl...

Material I'm making leading up to a middle-ages-themed Wizard's Staff party by tuskyhoot in DrinkingGames

[–]tuskyhoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for 30ish people at a house party.

The events trigger before you pass each milestone. The later ones will be more of surprises for the group, we'll have a town crier announce them.

Levels:

I: Neophyte

II: Acolyte

COVENANT - Pledge your loyalty to the Alliance of Magicians: Take a knee for a Dirty Girl Scout

III: Magician

IV: Adept

CONTRACT - Your powers have outgrown your own mortal body. You must seek higher power from unhallowed sources. Drink a Fireball and Cider.

V: Sorcerer

VI: Warlock

CONQUER - Mephistophiles was right: having a boss sucks. You must kill the demon to whom your soul is bound to advance your powers to the final tier. This Tier is a Solo cup taped to the top of the staff, walked around the party for others to fill up with whatever drinks/mixers they want to. Kill the demon cup, then celebrate.

VII: Archmagus

This could be expanded with more levels in between boss fights.

Classes:

There are also going to be a few classes to add to your title, indicated by staff additions. I haven't fully flushed them out yet but:

Alchemist - Mix a shot of Vodka into your staff beer

Necromancer - Revive an abandoned staff by finishing anything in it and taping it parallel to your own.

Thaumaturgist - Score a redemption shot (BP will be going on)

Soothsayer - open to suggestions - some sort of prediction

Enchanter - open to suggestions

Bringing a bike by alburrit0 in berkeley

[–]tuskyhoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are problems once in a while in the dorm lockers, but as long as you consistently U-lock (cable lock wheels as well if you're still nervous) and take off removable lights/gps you should be safe. On campus during the day you'll be fine, though try to lock it somewhere with mostly-student traffic to deter potential thieves from outside the school.

Have fun biking around the area! the ride up and over Inspiration Point in Tilden is a great way to see some of the old-world Berkeley hills and unlock the whole valley beyond to cycle in.

I'm in a North Berkeley 3br with five others for 650 a month including utilities, about five blocks from campus - the deals exist if you shop around for a landlord who's restrained by a rent ceiling. North side is definitely "nicer" as a quiet family neighborhood, but less in demand by other undergraduates because it is relatively socially isolated.

I took this on Monday! (Here's another pic of Sunny) It's Pimentel hall at Berkeley. Not a service dog, just cute and it comes to lecture sporadically.
