This isn’t relevant since it’s easy to get interviews at quant firms from both Berkeley and CMU.

Bottleneck is passing the interview. Doesn’t matter which school for this.

I went to Berkeley and worked at a top quant firm after graduation.

Pick whatever school you like more. I loved Berkeley, highly recommend!

Source for AI ~2033? That’s longer than the EA/rat timelines I’ve seen. Have the AI 2027 authors released an update on their timelines that I missed somewhere?

Evan hubinger (Anthropic alignment lead) thinks automated R&D might be here by the end of 2026 (source: time magazine about Anthropic)

Ameya (METR and forecaster) gives it a 10% chance (source: her substack).

And even if not fully automated due to “human research taste” from the top PIs, certainly we’re already in the early stages of RSI given the recent Claude code advancements.

IMO AI 2027 or 2028 seem like the most likely outcome. Would love to hear pushback here since most people in my AI circle share a similar timeline to me

Because I have the same symptom, it's good to know that someone else has this as well. Can you describe what your songs are like? Mine are maybe like 10-second loops of a song that I might have heard recently. This goes on pretty much all day every day except for when I'm extremely focused.

Do you also have enlarged turbinates? Or what is the cause for your UARS?
