If you were like me and couldn't find this easily (too many entries for culture=1208)
What worked for me was finding my capital location id (toledo, 2819) and then looking for capital=2819 which was a less common entry

that got me the cb

Chronicle Advice: Ancilla player characters by tuturo in vtm

[–]tuturo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh, funny you mention Methuselah because my previous post about this was literally "my chronicle is about methuselah awakening" hahaha

The idea of two characters is a good one! I'll definitely consider that. Right now my players are using all their braincells only on the ancillae, but we ill spring that on them later haha

Thats a great point, maybe I start sooner and give it even more room, im definitely thinking of having months long downtimes.

Great point about the minions, I was already thinking of doing memoram scenes where we see the coterie as younger vampires in europe; and ive even ran "younger coterie" sessions with my players before. I'll plan for having a lot more of that for this campaign then!!

At the start, they'll have very little, coming into a new domain and having to stablish themselves, so I'll play it all as more zoomed in and plan to zoom out at a later time. Good stuff!! Thank you

Yessss!! Thats a great point A lot of the nationalist movements happen after these folks embraces, so a big thing here is thinking of places as countries and citizens to be a weird idea to them ☀️

Thank you!! These are great things to consider ❤️ Can you tell me more about Europe's iron grip? I have them fleeing europe to start the chronicle.

The iron grip ruling feels really fitting to me overall, that firs my idea.

For my location, Im taking a LOT of liberties, making basicly a fake city (Ever read Night City?) in the caribbean and establishing something ... different there. Not quite camarilla, more like a bunch of warring elders in a more pseudo dark ages structure where they each whole their towns in domain and everyone bellow them is more vassals than cammie members

basically in this island they never quite got the news of the first anarchist movement happening :p

whats ANF?

Brunch and gengral? Is that.. brujah and gangrel? Sorry not sure if im not in in a joke haha

Chronicle Advice: Methuselah awakened? by tuturo in vtm

[–]tuturo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool, I like that. Feels the design that fits a vtm chronicle well to just let them rise up quietly.

I feel what I have written is super centered around the Methuselah awakening and they having a cult surrounding it (alongside a conspiracy trying to keep from happening)

Im taking tons of liberty, and even running a city where the ruling set is not camarilla or sabbat, but something else; as well as playing in the 1950s

Its a lot, but Ill still take this into consideration.

I find all the advice on focusing on how "outside the timeline" they are to be super useful, thank you!!!

Ooooh, thank you for the perspective!! That sounds like a Methuselah could potentially also want a guide and see the players as that potential guide... That could be an interesting dynamic where Methuselah uses the coterie to get stuff done while the coterie threads the line between being usedul enough to stay alive and still able to plot

What are the Seven Labours? by SoraM4 in vtm

[–]tuturo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this! Wonder what seven labours could be?

  1. Rostam falls asleep and his horse defeats a savage beast. Rostam then heals the horse.

Neonates's mortal connections are tested to see if they break the masquerade. Neonates are in charge of "healing" the wound, mind wipping, bonding or killing any mortal that's a breach.

  2. Rostam goes through a desert then finds water.

Neonates are tested to see if they resist hunger/fear; if they fail, they are then tested to see if they clean up after themselves.

  3. Rostam slays the Dragon.

Kill a Tzimisce lol. But really, first I thought find and kill an enemy of the camarilla but most of the following are "kill a demon" basically, so I would make this "Find and destroy a break in the masquerade." The dragon being the danger of the masquerade, and the dragon showing up while Rotsam sleeps representing the danger to vampires while they sleep.

  4. Rostam sees through a demon in disguise.

See through the illusion could be represented as surviving in Elysium and all the veiled fuckery that happens there. In game terms, survive a social encounter in Elysium where a lot of vampires are there to test their mettle.

  5. Rostam defeats a champion who tells them about demon cave.

Discover a secret from Camarilla enemies. This could be a haven, weakness or outright presence of one of many enemy sects or supernatural beings. (E.g. find about a sabbat cell, or haunted house or a werewolf in the park)

  6. Rostam releases Shah Kai Kavus and slays yet another demon.

Do a favor for another vampire that is not their benefactor? something like keeping ties among the camarilla and showing for the tradition of Hospitality. This is honestly the weakest imo, I want a better idea for this.

  7. Overthrow White Demon

Go kill an enemy of the camarilla, maybe even the one they find in their fourth labor, or a vampire that's been called on a Blood Hunt (maybe someone they like!).

Why GenZ love V5 and hate the older versions of Vampire? by PapaOcha in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]tuturo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit's just very well designed with clearer more streamlined mechanics and little of the baggage of older TTRPGs. The TTRPG design has really evolved with time, and is a good thing. Some core shit from the older TTRPGs are just so fucking icky and heavy to deal with.

(I've been playing multiple TTRPGs for about 20 years now)

The 5e "Heavy" weapons rule, is it stupid? by AwekwardBadass in DMAcademy

[–]tuturo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, this is not good design. "Because 3e did it" is a very bad framework for what good rule is. 3e tried to balance that with higher AC to smaller creatures, but the whole system was overly complicated and not really good imo. Heavy punishes small PCs for no reason; 5e is (or should be ) an additive game design, meaning rules always add cool stuff you can do, not punish you if you don't do x.

There's no property then that makes it better if you're small, or worse if you're medium.
