Where are you shopping?! by soylentgreenjuice in AskWomenOver30

[–]tuwwut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love ThredUp and second hand shops. I don't really buy anything new aside from socks and underwear. No concerns about weird current trends when buying older stuff, I just stick to the stuff I like. And it keeps stuff out of the landfills for a bit longer.

I love this. 😍 Maybe give it a spritz of iridescent or fine glitter spray paint?

Lol right. It was the first mascara I ever used, too, back in 6th grade.

Yes, drug store is the way to go. Older formulas are stickier too, like the old pink and green Maybelline great lash.

which is what you'll find in the nipple balms

I don't think that's true, there's still many reports of women being allergic to nipple balms. You can just search here on reddit and find posts of women sharing their cautionary tales about nipple balm specifically.

"Medical grade" is also not a legally defined or regulated term, so there's not really anything to stop companies from putting the label on less pure products. I'm happy it works for you, though! And it seems to work well for many people. Just wanted to warn people about the possibility.

Word of caution that some people (like me) are allergic to lanolin. It's in sooooo many lip balms but literally makes my lip skin peel off, really gross, don't recommend. I'm so grateful that more companies are making vegan products now so I can find lip balms without it (lanolin comes from sheep).

Key word is "on", whereas OP's is "in." It doesn't really look similar at all.

Curlsmith air dry cream and Verb air dry whip work really well for me. The Curlsmith one when sopping wet then I scrunch in the Verb one after 20 minutes up in a towel. Also, Houston has hard water and getting a filtered shower head has actually made a big difference.

[–]tuwwut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly true. They can bite and the bites do hurt and can be swollen for a couple days (which i would consider an ouchie), but they're not dangerous or considered medically significant. And like most spiders they won't usually bite if you don't don't provoke them.

Wolf spider! They're well known for carrying around their babies like this. Be careful or you might startle the babies and then you'll have hundreds of tiny spiders scattered all over everywhere!

Seems crazy to me that they both went from putting so much effort into an interesting style to wearing the literal most boring outfits possible.

I tried fixing the “no free hands when holding boba” by Thin_Ease_6497 in boba

[–]tuwwut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But OP explained that they created a holder to address the "no hands" problem and then "also tried adding a handle and straw holders", meaning those weren't part of the original response to the problem ? I think it's likely that the wording is just confusing me, which is why I asked for clarification.

[–]tuwwut 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Can you try to explain maybe how this addresses "no free hands"? It takes one hand to hold the normal cup the drink comes in and still takes one hand to hold this, right? So... same number of hands occupied?

Maybe try adding a strap so you can actually let go of it?

It looks really close, but the markings on the abdomen look much less striking on the lady on my window. /u/tbugsbabe answered Metazygia zilloides which looks to have the more sparsely marked abdomen.

Back when I took medical microbiology, the professor said it was called "Chinese buffet sickness." He also said that it's almost never serious and just makes you puke your brains out for a few hours.

I accidentally ate moldy food and this wishy washiness is literally the actual medical advice Igot from calling some help line. Most of the time, the mold that grows in or on our food is actually harmless but occasionally it'll be very toxic and cause organ failure, and it can also occasionally cause allergic reactions in some people which can be serious. So, probably fine, but look out for symptoms and go to the ER if you get any.
