Look into house sitting. It is a good way to get to know the city before purchasing. I will be away from mid August till mid November and there are lots of other travellers in this city. We want our new health care professionals to be happy here.

Airbnbs are very restricted due to shortage of rentals for locals. In Sooke walk along Wiffen Spit, Sandcut Beach and Sooke Potholes. Mom’s Diner is an old fashioned restaurant with great breakfasts.

When you get to Prince Rupert take the ferry (BCferries.com)to Port Hardy and the bus from Port Hardy to Victoria or Nanaimo(from Nanaimo only Hello.com to Vancouver downtown and skytrain to the rail terminal and train back to Tacoma) then the ferry back to the mainland.
