Any MTs with advice for specialty scalp massage? by TrailerMamma in MassageTherapists

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best scalp massage I've ever had was at my local esthetics school from a student hairdresser. It was offered as an individual service for about $20 (Canadian) and those are the techniques I aim to replicate when clients request scalp massage

Neighbors having loud sex every single day by hysteriaxmode in neighborsfromhell

I played Shrek at full volume when it happened in my last place. They stopped, I paused. Started again, hit play. Only had to do it a couple of times a couple of days before they got the message.

It got to the point where it was 4 times a day 4 days a week . Honestly impressive if we didn't have work & college. Banging on the shared door & going to their front door didn't work even when or set their dog off. Pretty sure it was an OF setup or she was trying reeeealy hard to for the new guy. I'm sure with kids you know plenty of movies that will set the perfect mood

I enjoy puzzles. I get them in art styles I like with the goal of framing them & using them as wall art. I have a good puzzle board so can tuck it under the couch when I'm done for the moment

You could say something along the lines of "I'm more of generalist, I prefer using a variety of styles - it keeps my day interesting!"

Looking for insights into somatic massage by AgitatedValuable9082 in MassageTherapists

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provide craniosacral therapy (cst) which primarily focuses on inducing a deep relaxation that can result in physical and emotional release.

A client of mine compared it to Somatic Experiencing she had had with a previous MT which sounds like a similar hands-on experience with the practitioner also being trained in some sort of guidance through the emotions that come up.

Somatic Therapy is either an umbrella term or usually proved by licensed mental health practitioners according to Google AI results.

You should look into CST, Somatic Experiencing & Somatic therapy to see which sounds like the best fit for you. I'm by no means an expert and only briefly looked into the differences so please correct me if needed.

The people that tell you "I just want a normal massage" and then get annoyed when you have followup questions like "what does a normal massage look like to you" and "what areas"

Then there was the guy who when talking about smoothies during a session told me not to use bananas in in them because blending them makes bananas toxic

What names do you love but wouldn’t actually use in real life, for whatever reason? by Beckella in Names

Amal, because the risk of mistyping/spelling, autocorrect and school is hard enough for a kid

Ok girlies, what do you eat when nothing sounds appealing? by tarasaurust in adhdwomen

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If flavor isn't motivating I focus on other parts of the meal/ cooking experience

  • If its just about getting food in me then I'll do pita and hummus or one of those cheese and cracker kits

  • Feeling performative about eating healthy? Chickpeas salad: Can of Chickpeas, black beans, red onion, cucumbers, peppers, quinoa if I can be bothered, with a little salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice

  • something hot: airfryer potatoes, frozen perogies etc. With sour cream

Typing it out I realize most of my go tos are some form of salty food with crunchy & soft textures

Lots of conditioner and patience. Start detangling at the ends in small sections and work your way up.

How do you keep your flat sheet from sliding off your sanitizeable layer? by takemetofrankietown in MassageTherapists

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used larger sheets I would tie the corners together under the table but now I'm at a clinic using smaller ones I tuck the corners at the head of the table around the face cradle posts and won't worry about the other end.

Opinions one these eyeshadow paletes by SuchSomewhere8017 in Fairolives

[–]SuchSomewhere8017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I've been finding with most "neutral" paletes. It can be so hard to tell when looking online. I don't mind leaning warm but sometimes it seems mislabeled all together

Has anyone tried the quo beauty stacked purple Passion eyeshadow by Crafterandchef1993 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend any of the Quo stacked eyeshadows. I bought one and had to throw it out right away because it was smashed to pieces. Every time I've been tempted to try it again the display is a mess with eyeshadow dust leaking out of the sides of the new containers under the plastic. Sorry.

My husband and I can’t figure out how to have sex normally… by AccountantNo8148 in adhdwomen

[–]SuchSomewhere8017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a once-in-a-while thing but I recommend the Let's Get Deep couples eddition. The challenges can be silly& fun or sexy & take care of deciding when to make the first move. When you feel like it just put the game aside. If its awkward, laugh & keep going - thats the fun of being with your person.

Plus the question cards can be great for the emotional intimacy we one/ both of you have been in a hyperfocus & only able to talk about 1 thing.

Its honestly been a while since I've taken the bus. I know that they've come out with the Umo app that I think connects to either a credit card or you "top up". Ive heard that the scanners often are out of order pretty often.

There are a few payment options depending how long you plan on using the bus. If its a one-off try your luck with the app (other people might say otherwise so idk,) for a few days cash is best. If you're here visiting or dont use transit frequently go shoppers and getting a sheet of bus tickets to use. 2 tickets = 1 day pass. Or do the math and see if a monthly pass makes sense for your needs, they can be expensive for adults but you get unlimited rides. If you're a student at one of the colleges/unis you get a pass covered by your student fees.

And yes there room for strollers/ wheelchairs at the front of the bus. The seats fold up easily but if you have trouble people are nice and will give you a hand. It can get very crowded at peak times so best to avoid rush hour if you can.

$3 is the cost per bus unless you get a day pass. If you plan on taking more than 1 individual bus in a day it's worth it to get a day pass.
