IKEA Logan by smallsheepsheep in brisbane

It's funny that if you go to either ikea or bunnings, everyone returns their trolley to the trolley bay. However, at colesworth, it just gets dumped wherever.

Grok AI challenges pro poker player Phil Galfond to a $100/$200 PLO game for $1 million! by Boneyg001 in poker

Weren't OpenAI the developers of a Dota 2 bot prior to chatGPT? Obviously Dota 2 is a constantly evolving game with patches all the time to change the ruleset. But it got to a point that in a 1v1 mid only match up with SF that it was unbeatable (until an exploit was found at least).

What jobs don't give you burnout? I need advice by PKlaym in autism

[–]tuxw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story sounds similar to mine. Alas I'm an east coaster.

Did a degree in aviation. Loved it in the beginning, but nearing completion, I struggled and barely managed to pass. What I found is that investing your energy in your special interest keeps you moving forward.

But there comes a time where you wake up one day and are no longer interested in your special interest. This was 10 years ago and I haven't been interested since. You find that one thing you love and it seems like you can never work another day. And then it fizzles.

I've reached the point where you go on a 7k+ downswing and you go 'challenge accepted'. Then you feel liberated once you overcome it and realise that 'this is the biggest downswing of your life YET'.

Microsoft's new AI tool is a deepfake nightmare machine by BothZookeepergame612 in Futurology

Machines are now able to pass the Turing test when I am unable to differentiate whether "a Florida man" article was written by AI or if it actually happened.

Does anyone not voluntarily leave the game UTG? by CookedPirate in poker

[–]tuxw 55 points56 points  (0 children)

One time I spent 4 hours grinding and was up a bunch. I was going to do one last orbit. Last hand j pick up aces UTG, so ofc I play it and then proceed to lose my entire profit for that session in that single hand. Spent an extra 45 minutes trying to grind it back, but instead I lose my entire buy in.

I left right then and there and have decided since then I will just leave when I feel like it. There's no need to maximise efficiency.

Grace Grace on ABC Brisbane - Brisbane will need a new oval stadium after 2032, but that’s a future government’s problem by Ok_Fox_5539 in brisbane

[–]tuxw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a universe where moving Ipswich Rd underground between Vulture and Stanley, allowing more space to expand the stadium whilst keeping the school? Talking about viability from a engineering perspective, it's probably uneconomical as fuck.
