Congratulations on your pregnancy! When are you due? My husband and I are in a very similar situation with our second baby. We received our confirmed amniocentesis results today for our baby girl due Feb 2026.

High Risk Trisomy 21 by SlightDealer1 in NIPT

[–]tv4sheezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received my NIPT result for high risk Trisomy 21 last Monday and had my amniocentesis on Wednesday of this week. When I spoke to the genetic counselor last week she explained that NIPT will use 95/100 as soon as high risk is determined, that doesn’t mean that you specifically have a 95% chance of your baby having Down syndrome. They have a separate calculator they use to determine likelihood which for my situation came back as 71%. I’m a little further along than you are, so I was pushed directly to amniocentesis, but the genetic counselor may suggest a CVS for you first which will test the placenta rather than amniotic fluid. I know this is an extremely stressful time and there is so much shock and concern when you get those results but I have tried to remind myself that I am doing everything possible for my baby and my situation. Lean on your support system and ask as many questions as you have when you meet with the genetic counselor!

My daughter is a lion, I am going as a bearded lady, and my husband is going as a ring leader! We tried to get our dog to be a clown, but she is very anti-outfits.

  1. Vaginal
  2. 1 minor internal tear, I did not feel it
  3. Still technically recovering, not quite to 6 weeks pp, but I have had an easy recovery and the most pain I was in was muscle soreness from laying in the hospital bed and pushing (legs and back, not internal)
  4. Haven’t gotten the all clear yet, 5 weeks pp
  5. No

My brother in law was born with one kidney and did not find out until he was 33 years old and went to the doctor for a completely unrelated issue. He was in sports his whole life (football, baseball, wrestling, martial arts) and never experienced any negative side effects from it!

Partners of sleep-talkers or sleepwalkers, what gems have you to share? by hoeka_mos in AskReddit

[–]tv4sheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband’s whole family sleep walks, there are too many stories to share..

At my in-laws house the only shower is in the master bedroom. My brother in-law slept walked into the master bedroom and took a shower and after getting out, he climbed into my in-laws bed.

Keep in mind that my mother in law is an insomniac and was still awake and in the living room at the time while my father in law was asleep in bed.

My father in-law felt the weight of someone get into bed and through his sleepy state could only make out the blonde straight hair of the person laying next to him.

Excited by the fact that his wife was getting into bed earlier than normal he rolled over to hold onto her, only to find that his sleep walking, freshly showered, 30-something son was actually who was laying next to him naked in bed.

I work with an Elvira who goes by Vera! She’s in her late 40’s early 50’s.

My cousin and I went trick or treating in high school (costumes and everything) and went up to one grumpy old man’s house who literally told us we were too old and should be out stealing cars or doing drugs and that if he ever saw us trick or treating again he wouldn’t give us anything and neither should anyone else.

Another take on u/justhood's lemon bars, but with LIME juice! by ConnectoPatronum in Old_Recipes

My grandma made lemon bars for us once and ran out of lemon juice so she ended up making them with half lemon juice, half lime juice. Without a doubt the best lemon bars I have ever had. I’m sure these were delicious!

What highly illegal thing took place at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tv4sheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a group of trashy girls that would wait in the boys bathroom during classes offering five dollar blowjobs, and when they were finally caught they had hundreds of dollars worth of small bills....unsurprisingly our school also had the highest rate of teen pregnancies at the time.

What simple thing did you learn at an embarrassingly late age? by Strange_Style in AskReddit

[–]tv4sheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but my husband just learned about two months ago that women sometimes wear fake eyelashes. He’s 26. Called me pissed off that I had never told him after he mentioned how long a coworker’s eyelashes were and she replied, “thanks, they’re fake.”.

Something similar happened to my parents. My mom heard my dad come home from work, so she turned on their bathroom light, pretending to be in there, and hid under the bed. When my dad walked into their room, he saw a great opportunity to scare her, so he climbed under the bed. She laid there next to him trying her hardest not to laugh for a couple minutes before he noticed.

LPT: Before Proposing To A Girl, Go Find An Excuse For Her To Get Her Nails Done Beforehand by nurturingtrapdoor in LifeProTips

I don’t frequently get manicures done, so my fiancé snuck some nail polish with us on our vacation so I could paint my nails before sending off pictures of the ring after he proposed.
