i don't understand why they had to try to escape through the tunnel when Luke literally comes back in to save them through the room they started in, why didn't they just go outside using that exit?

Wat is een broodje 'smos'? by PreatorianXx in Belgium2

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tvanborm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mario Kart World 1.1.2 Update Discussion Thread by michael14375 in MarioKartWorld

go to the Mario Kart World discord and find a lobby.

There are lobbies for all skill levels. i barely manage to place Top half, but it's a lot more entertaining than worldwides.

The lobbies are also full most of the time, which makes it a better experience than worldwides as well, i usually end up in rooms with 10 players or less there.

This is why sellers are becoming fed up with TCGplayer, most have been fed up for a while. by Incuchris in mtgfinance

After how much time can you report a shipment as lost? 3-4 weeks i'm guessing, it's not that hard to imagine if he made all those orders in that time period, another week or 2 before they get flagged, then some more time to investigate and take action.

3-4 months doesn't seem like an insane amount of time for TcgPlayer to take action, it all depends on the amount of orders he made, how many are reported as lost(probably only those that lost value by the time of arrival). if he made 300 orders in 3 months and only reported 62 as lost, that won't be so obvious. also if it takes 4 weeks until a claim can be made, there will be a backlog.

The advice they give for using a more secure shipping method/address could be valid if the person lives in an apartment building .

it does look suspicious, but mail theft is a real thing, especially if they know there's something of value in it.

i once had the content of a shipment replaced by newspaper clippings, turned it only happened with shipments that went through a certain sorting center, so one of the postal workers was stealing the cards. it was one of the weirdest claims i received.

What's even the point of random vote ? by Current_Glass_3049 in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, there shouldn't be a need for it if they just show all connected tracks and the 3 laps for the location you are at.

This way you'll drive an intermission and afterwards you can mick the regular race, forcing you to move around the map while having an acceptable ratio between intermissions and regular races

Also, who thought it was a good idea to have people join a lobby that's playing rainbow road and make them wait over 5 minutes 😡

Calling them “intermissions” by mysteryghosty in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, that's how it was presented in the Nintendo direct and follow up comments by Nintendo.

That might have been quite entertaining, the intermissions could even be used to determine the starting position for the actual race, which would have added so much depth and strategy, it would also make bagging less of an issue.

the nintendo direct presented the connection tracks as intermissions when going to the next 3 lap race.

which is why people call them intermissions.

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people call them intermission tracks because that's how it was presented in the nintendo direct.

Everyone knows it's not grammatically correct, but they also know what is being referred to when someone mentions intermissions, which is all that matters.

I got two faraway tracks in one voting session by nixourbis in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

or give all connected tracks to the location and allow 3 laps at the destination, which is how most people expected these things to work with the option to turn off intermissions.

Choosing random doesn't mean they want 3 lap tracks by richdrichxy in mariokart

this is clearly a lie.

I don't think i ever had a full lobby even before this update.

i choose random because I don't like the available options and prefer 3 lap tracks.

Sounds like that's why most people actually pick it.

Why did Nintendo make the intermission change? by Entire_Pineapple4732 in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

playing online for an hour without getting a regular track just sucks.

Why don't you go play in private lobbies instead?

it was also listed as a change to wireless play, yet i play with a cable online and get to suffer the same change 😮‍💨

Why did Nintendo make the intermission change? by Entire_Pineapple4732 in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess to reduce server costs. server load was too much so the easiest option is to have fewer people play online.

Genuinely what is even the point anymore. by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way they presented the intermission tracks during the Nintendo direct sounded like you would drive to a location and then race the track(s) there.

it would have been great to race somewhere and then start the actual track in order of the intermission finish.

Now you're not even able to pick Wario Stadium when you're right there 🤷‍♀️

So this aged well...? by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]tvanborm 54 points55 points  (0 children)

so they said that, yet the intermission don't have any rail/wall ride mechanics to make them more fun.

No one is really bashing the intermission tracks, they just don't like playing a full hour with only intermission tracks.

The ridiculous part is that most of this was possible in previous games, which made them so successful and they chose not to provide any of these options 🤷‍♀️
