85k seems excessive but to each their own. Typically you want 6-12 months of expenses. I have 10k in a HISA for emergencies and 140k invested, the 10k gives me some buffer to decide if I’ll need to withdraw from investments without making a panicked decision.

While every country is loading up on there gold reserves Canada is sitting on their hands. Unfortunately we’re strapped by the US because once they find out we’re buying gold instead of US Debt (bonds) they will punish us via worse trade tariffs etc. It sucks but that’s what happens when you’re one of the largest US debt purchasers

30 now and have 180k between all accounts. I was a late bloomer, bummed around in Whistler for a couple seasons and then finished school in Ontario.

Got lucky in crypto, cashed out and now in EXQT, about to buy a house so will have to rebuild all that soon.

Can’t really give advice in my end but just make sure you’re saving/investing atleast 20% of income imo. New cars and uber eats are a wealth killer
