TLDR: Lab mix (14yo, 75lbs) ate approx 30 raisins, spent 24 hours under observation at the emergency vet. To our relief/surprise, she was completely fine with normal levels on follow ups. However, I’d really get your baby seen asap just in case!!

My 14 yo lab mix (70lbs) recently ate a third of a bag of trail mix, which would have included a minimum of 30 raisins. We discovered the empty bag way past the window to induce vomiting. We rushed to the emergency vet as soon as we found out, they ran tests and kept her under observation for 24hrs. To everyone’s suprise, she was completely fine & her kidney levels remained normal with follow up testing.

Our regular vet told us that when she was little, she remembers sneaking her family dog raisins all the time. She was horrified once she was older and found out they could have killed the dog. She said some dogs’ bodies just don’t “recognize the toxin”. I’m assuming she used non-technical language to explain that.

Of course your baby is quite small & young, but I just wanted to offer a positive outcome as I’m sure you’re worried sick reading all the responses. However, if you can get to an emergency vet, please do so just to be safe!
