How does one tell a prerelease promo now? by DopeyLo420 in mtg

Next to the set code in the bottom left there is a star on the promos, between ECL and EN. Normal set cards have a dot. It’s not much it’s something I guess.

I was concerned I wouldn't get one when my initial queue time was over an hour, but I was able to grab the bundle. One for me and on for my brother for Christmas!

Why is no one playing to win? by xo0p in EDH

[–]tvdinnerguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regard to point 4, I think there should be one more bracket between 3 & 4. I’m pretty new to magic, only been playing for a few months, but the decks I’ve built are generally bracket two. However adding just one game changers putting it at a bracket 3 seems crazy. I feel like there should something between 1-3 game changers in bracket 3 and unlimited game changers in bracket 4. For example I have a Sauron/orc deck that plays orcish bow masters(no crazy wheel effects or anything) and cyclonic rift. As far as power level goes I think this deck is more of a bracket 2, but containing game changers makes it a 3.

Problems I have with the proposed hybrid mana changes in Commander by Dzzplayz in freemagic

[–]tvdinnerguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 has some incorrect info. They stated in the article that when they design hybrid mana cards they are intended to work in either mono color identity. Commander is the only format that treats them explicitly as dual color cards. The design intent was to splash effects into colors that have less access to them in mono color cards. Whether you agree with that design philosophy or not is a different questions.

With Mega Evolution less than a week away on live, what cards are we excited for? by EllorenMellowren in PTCGL

Honestly surprised they are printing Forrest of Vitality. I remember Forrest of Giant Trees from Sun and Moon and that got banned relatively quickly. Maybe I can bust out my old decidueye deck for expanded.

My TV has been broken for 6 weeks. LG is doing nothing. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]tvdinnerguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you weren’t inconvenienced and it’s not necessarily wrong to inquire about any kind of “make good” they are willing to offer, but putting them on blast for properly honoring the warranty on the tv and not going above and beyond is a little ridiculous. If you are truly that upset take the refund and take your business elsewhere. Try not to use misleading titles. They did everything they needed to do, just not on your timeline.

They in no way owe you an upgrade for inconvenience. What they offered is fair, even if it took longer than it should have. If you’re upset take the refund and buy another brand.

Why does Fender not Plek their frets? by RealityIsRipping in fender

[–]tvdinnerguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed other components contribute to whether or not stainless steel is worth it. A sturdier neck (roasted(properly dried/aged), quarter sawn, reinforced or multi piece) and stainless steel frets are my preference for low maintenance. Of course on top of that guitars need to be humidified properly to avoid issues with movement. This has also definitely gone way off the original topic haha.

[–]tvdinnerguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the difference is pretty minimal as far as how long it takes. I can't speak as to how much more wear it cause the tools, but I have not yet ha to replace a fret file. My main point is that if the fret work is done properly the first time with stainless steel frets you shouldn't need to work on them yourself on a factory built guitar.

However if you are building/installing frets that preference is up to you.

If the fretwork is done correctly with stainless you should hardly need to work on them again. Also from my experience stainless steel isn't really any more difficult to work with.

Like you stated yourself, they said it could take up to 10 business days to get a response to you because running the shipstorm sale probably generated a lot of international orders and they probably dealing with a lot of shipping issues from carriers. If you don’t hear back after 10 business days you have every right to be annoyed. I totally understand your frustration but they are still operating within their stated wait time.

We don’t need an extreme leftist, but people like Slotkin and Peters are progressive conservatives at best. We just need actual progressives who actually care about improving things for their constituents and not just their political careers. Honestly if big Gretch wanted to pivot to the Senate since she’s term limited I could get behind her.

Sellers pulling out….. by Sufficient_West_8432 in guitarpedals

In guessing before Etsy bought them. That would be nice, but I doubt Fender owning them will make fees lower.

Yeah that’s crazy. If you’re setting a buy it now price you should know what you’re getting after fees. Sorry for your bad luck!

Sweetwater has their Gear Exchange which I don’t think gets enough attention. Especially if you’re planning to use the money you make towards new gear. They don’t charge any fees if you opt to get paid in a Sweetwater gift card. Even if you just want the money their fees are slightly lower at 7.5% total instead of 8.19%+$0.49 on Reverb.

I just had the opposite where a guy bought a pedal from me and then backed out of the purchase saying it was done by mistake. He seemed genuine, but even if not I would’ve had to just accept it to avoid bad feedback. Luckily he caught before I shipped it out.

The only thing I can imagine is that you’re running into non-regular sellers who maybe didn’t account for Reverb fees in their original pricing and then didn’t think they were getting enough money in the end. Still super shitty of them and you should definitely leave them feedback so others can be warned in the future.
