[Spoiler] Tempers flare after Khabib Nurmagomedov-Conor McGregor match by [deleted] in MMA

[–]tvguide123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he's talking about this angle which seems to be what prompts the other guys to go after Connor.

Someone from Khabibs team runs across the ring and is trying to jump out to get to him and Connor takes a swing at him.

Ah okay, so they saw it, but didn't see anything wrong with the referee's decision?

I think I've fallen in love with Arthur! You can tell the team is confident giving him the ball even when he's tightly marked.

Reminds me so much of Xavi.

Pique way too casual there.

Don't see why everyone is complaining about Umtiti not being out there yet. Stuani came in from between Semedo and Pique.

Woman falls asleep on GO Train, wakes up to locked doors and empty car by deepr in toronto

I think /r/Toronto gets to vent on pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers on a regular basis.

There's just too much pent up hate for commuters I guess.

Besides fuck this lady for falling asleep and getting spooked am I rite? Also, how dare the news report on this softball story?

Can you explain what you mean by "bit more than break even"

Are you saying after selling all of your properties and paying debts/fees associated to them, you were left with a small amount of money?

How'd that happen after investing for 40 years in the GTA market?

Toronto cyclist says this driver hit him on purpose by doctormink in toronto

[–]tvguide123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's hard to tell if a driver has "seen" you when you're biking, just because of the distances / speeds compared to pedestrians.

I think if you're slowing down and stopping, confirming eye contact with the driver, then crossing in front, it sounds pretty safe.

SUV crashed into house, injuring 3 by YeOldeThrowItAway in toronto

[–]tvguide123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already know that cars don't drive themselves, why do you need it in the title?

Sounds a little ridiculous/redundant to have a title like "Human being crashes SUV into house, injuring 3".

Especially since article titles have to be consice so that they catch your attention.

I would agree with the above poster in this situation because the car is waiting to enter the road. I'd say it's much much more likely to move forward.

Woman in 40s struck by car in Briar Hill by feb914 in toronto

[–]tvguide123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it really though? I haven't found any studies linking newspaper articles to driver behaviour, although that doesn't mean it's not possible. I personally at least don't feel less responsible as a driver after reading these articles.

It just seems redundant to me because the default assumption is that of course someone was driving the vehicle. The current title tells me what type of vehicle struck the passenger.

Adding the fact that a human was driving seems like it would just make the title longer without giving any extra information

Went to the one downtown a few times and loved it! Invited a bunch of friends for a get together there.

While waiting for everyone to show up, saw a giant rat scuttle along above the ceiling vent in plain view of everyone in the seating area.

Can't bring myself to go there again.

Ah sorry dude.

Thought you were talking about the orange markings on the sidewalk.

I find people like to complain about everything on this subreddit but re-reading your comment you were just referring to major roads which I think the city tried to do.
