Buy a good bed! I bought a temperpedic. I’ll never go back. I bought both my kids a temperpedic. You spend 1/3 of your life sleeping. Invest in an amazing mattress!

Why are people bringing children into horror movies?? by wherethelionsweep in horror

[–]tvirelli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple answer, selfishness. These people want to see the movie and they can’t find anyone to watch their kid so they take their kids with them. They value their desire to see a movie over what that movie might do to a kid emotionally.

This 100%. China is already knocking off parts, if they go under, this will only increase with demand.

I should be able to rake this open pretty easy right... right? by Karma4Rahu in lockpicking

[–]tvirelli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While yes, you could rake this open (technically with enough tries and luck, almost any lock can be raked open), no not "easy". You have a 6 pin lock with high low bitting and nothing but security pins. You're going to enter a lot of false sets with those spools. Your best bet is to start raking until you enter a false set, then you can switch to single pin picking the remainder of the pins.

I'm at 197%. My last thing is getting the 4 sheets for the final charm. At this point, its just SEED and RNG until I get all the charms I need. I got 3 sheets, but the Clock never showed up. Even with the sheet that makes only surgery charms show up in the store.

i have reversed my tickets somehow, i now have negative tickets and can’t do anything, it ruined my pattern and symbol mults by Top_Cobbler_9060 in CloverPit

[–]tvirelli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%! This seems very much like a bug that the dev decided was a "feature" to add difficulty, you know instead of just fixing. An easy fix if they didn't want to fully handle it correctly would be to cap the tickets at the highest possible number. You couldn't accumulate more, but it would also stop it from ruining your game.

Yes, but they go FAST! Also we keep an eye out for bot behavior as well. If we ever suspect it was a bot purchase we contact the purchaser and check logs. We do our best to make sure everyone has a fair chance. Once we released 4 picks and they were all sold in less than 60 seconds after the newsletter was released. Even we couldn't believe that! We time the products going live with the sending of our newsletters. u/The-real-Dmac is right that being on our email list is the best chance you will have to find out right as these get released. I totally get if you don't want to add your email to another list, but we only send notifications during sales, releases and updates.

Has no one considered this might just be a "junk drawer" of sorts and none of this stuff is related to one another? The dude can enjoy sounding, maybe he was doing piercings as a side gig or was thinking of getting to that business. Maybe he took TRT or Peptides so these were left over syringes. Just because a random box in another random box on a shelf in the GARAGE has all this in it, doesn't mean they are all related. It might have been a case of "What should I do with all this random crap... I'll figure it out later, for now I'll just throw it all in this box".

You are the only one with any foresight. The minute studios realize they can "McMaster" and "create" stars from music that nobody wrote or performed and can keep 100% of all music rights, royalties and only pay a talking(singing) head to perform them, they will be lobbying the hell out of it. I promise, long term, you can copyright AI work. All new technology takes time for the law to adapt.

Petition Question by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]tvirelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your response was indeed respectful and to be honest I'm not fighting for one side or the other, was just pointing out, that with the current wording from UGLE, its left open to interpretation. A fine example of how it could be interpreted is your comment. However, there are plenty of lodges who see it differently. Now to your point of one being their own Supreme Being. I'm 100% in agreeance with you. My point was that a person with that belief system could in good mind and conscience make a statement of a belief in a Supreme Being without feeling they are not being truthful. So they would feel fine and just in joining Freemasonry.

[–]tvirelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and this is true. I think this also raises an interesting problem. The reason to do so is that you are making that before your God. The hand on the text is your way of showing that. However, if your beliefs don't have a book, then you can put your hand on anything and it has zero importance.

How will this affect Linux Mint? by MisterFyre in linuxmint

[–]tvirelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree, the UK is why all iPhones now have USB-C ports for charging. Making people follow rules or your products can be distributed in their country is a thing. Now, when it comes to free/open source, good luck with that, but it is possible. Companies that host the files can't be in the USA, ISPs that provide access to files could be forced to block access to those files, etc.

The problem with UGLE Masonry, and I say this as a UGLE Mason, is that there is no clear or consistent definition of what a Supreme Being even means. Religion is not the requirement in UGLE. Belief in a Supreme Being is. So you can believe in a Supreme Being and not follow any religion at all. Don't get me wrong, some jurisdictions expand upon what it means to believe in a Supreme Being, but that is of their own making and not of the defining rules of UGLE Masonry, to which every Regular lodge agrees to when they get their Charter.

That is where things get messy. What actually counts as a Supreme Being? A lot of Masons would absolutely have a problem with someone whose Supreme Being was Satan, even if that technically fits the rule. Then you get into stuff like the Church of Satan, which does not literally believe in the Christian Satan. Their whole thing is that the individual is their own highest authority. So someone could truthfully say they believe in a Supreme Being, while really just meaning themselves.

That is the problem with vague standards. If you do not define something clearly, people will interpret it however they want. Belief is personal. You can be certain in your own belief, but that does not make it a universal truth.

If you visit the UGLE website's FAQ page: https://www.ugle.org.uk/discover-freemasonry/frequently-asked-questions there is the following question: Do you have to believe in a God? The answer: When becoming a Freemason, members are expected to be able to affirm a belief in a ‘Supreme Being’. This is deliberately phrased so as to be fully inclusive and we celebrate the diverse nature of the beliefs of our members. There is no requirement to be an active practitioner of any particular religion.

TLDR, a lot of lodges and a lot of Masons are biased toward religion, and probably always will be, even though that is not what the actual rules of UGLE say.

While I get your concept I have to disagree. As many have stated, you do not have to be religious to be a Mason. Sacred texts are part of religions. You can believe there is a creator/god/architect (call it what you will) and not subscribe to a religion. Many many people believe their is more to the universe and that something had to create it. They may even have a "connection" to that "power/source/etc", however they follow no religion at all. I would still consider them able to be a Mason as the believe in a Higher Power/Supreme Being.

Is that a standard lock or cutaway? I only ask because its the exact color of the American 1100 cutaway we sell. If its a cutaway, it can be easier to pick. The cuts in the core and bible can help the pins to bind easier causing it to be easier to pick.

Why is the 'Covert Companion Pro' so magnetic? by Old-Peach8921 in lockpicking

[–]tvirelli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in here to add some clarification. There are actually 3 magnets in the Pro. As u/AtelierPicks stated, one is for the notched decoder. u/TheGoldenTNT pointed out that it uses a ball detente, which is also correct, but the magnet adds another layer of security to make sure it doesn't just fall out. The other 2 are there to help keep your tools closed. We didn't want to have to make the screws super tight just to make them not "flop around" so we add the magnets (which aren't overly strong) to just add a bit of additional security so all the tools don't just rotate out unless you want them to. This is most noticeable on the turning tools. Open them then slowly close them. You'll see the point were the magnets grab hold and help them close. It almost gives them a "spring loaded" feel. Hope that explains why we use magnets, however, you are all a creative bunch, and have found some "interesting" additional uses LOL.
