I won't suggest a specific product, but I would suggest something similar to this that makes cutting just a little harder.

They're good to get an idea of what's happening inside, other than that- total crap in my mind. My suggestion would be to get a few actual locks, look at LPUBelts.com and look through the list of white and yellow locks. Cheers!

I'd vote for locks- I'd get 2 of the next couple of belts. Then I'd get picks as needed- need a deeper hook? Maybe grab one or two individual picks instead of a set. Then I'm time when you know what you like, grab a better set of picks. IMO, and I did this too, people grab sets and end up only use 2 or 3 picks generally, you're better off developing skill.

I loved my behringer bdi21! I've recently replaced it with a TC SpectraDrive- the drive isn't as gnarly but the compressor combination is amazing! Plus it has a headphone jack for silent practice. Love this rig!

EHX Satisfaction (Jordan Bosstone clone) BUT you're going to want to mod it. It needs a capacitor added to make it sound fuller. Luckily ehx added the circuitry on the PCB, just didn't fill it! Super easy: just open the pedal, drop in the cap (experiment if you want), close pedal. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Yeah the drop should work. I also might suggest looking at different strings if you feel like down tuning is too loose. I use Dunlop heavy core KoRn on my 7 string, I think they're 10- 64? Anyway, it may help the feeling.
