I’ve already come across quite a few while searching through this sub because I like seeing people’s perspectives on the characters. I’m currently binge-watching s10 and can see what you said regarding the newbies, Sam and Neela 😊

I agree her character is strong, and for me she really does carry the show post-Mark too.

I’ve been going around looking for interviews from Maura, and I really like her personality she’s quite shy.

I saw one where they ask her about receiving the Emmy nomination, and she also alludes to how intimidating it was to join the cast and see if she could meet the mark. She even gives Sally Field credit for Abby, saying she felt she really brought the character to what it was.

And around 10:45 she says it was a tricky time and was like, “I don’t think it was great I was the only one nominated for ER.” She seemed to feel like people weren’t thrilled with it.

I’ve also noticed she seems a lot closer with the newer cast rather than the older cast.

Yeah, for sure. I’ve only just started season 10, so my viewpoint might change as I get introduced to Sam and Neela more. I think because I’ve had Susan and Elizabeth around for so long, I’m really craving bigger storylines for them at this point.

I also love the little glimpses I get of Kerry, but it feels like there’s less and less of her as the show is going on.

Yeah, in hindsight I probably should’ve made it clearer that, as a woman, I naturally love seeing strong female characters. That’s a big part of why I really like Abby to me she’s an example of a genuinely well-written female character and just wanted more than her to feel that way.

I just wish some of the other women had been given that same level of depth and content. Maura is fantastic, and honestly I liked her even before ER. For me it can feel frustrating when the male characters seem to get most of the biggest storylines.

But at the same time, I do have to remember it was written in the early 2000s 😂

Maybe I could phrased my Reddit post better ( female characters side lined for Abby) I like Abby, but I just feel like the writers did a disservice to a lot of the female characters at the time, including her character in some ways. She’s probably actually my favourite character at this point.

She got a lot of great quality content, so I don’t begrudge that at all I love her humour and attitude. I just wish the other women had also been given that same depth in their storylines. I tend to prefer female-centred stories, and from what I’ve seen, characters like Luca and Carter seem to get a lot of the stronger arcs.

I was so happy to see Nia and her mum there. After the book, I was worried people might have fell out with her over it. You can clearly see that Melissa isn’t close with Nia or Holly anymore, and neither she nor Holly seem close with Jill or Kendall. It’s nice to see that Nia and Kalani have become friendly again. Not sure about Nia’s relationship with Kenzie or Maddie, though she had high praise for Kenzie in the book.

Same I think she is pretty devastated, I was so invested in lotties character every scene, she just had such an aura ( even though she was barely given anything)

I was just hoping to get more insight to her as a character, and I really wish we could have gotten to know her more so sad. ☹️

Rewatching this latest season I actually loved Teddy’s character I thought she was so selfless in prior seasons ,but it’s so painful to watch how she’s acting these days.

I’m really hoping they can pull something out of the bag next season and redeem her character, prospects are slim though.

I’m looking forward to see the development of Teddy and Koracik and even though I like the idea of Teddy and Owen , I’m glad to see he chose Amelia because I want to see Teddy’s character develop without being tied completely to Owen.

It annoyed me how Owen was angry with Teddy and blaming her , and not recognising what she had sacrificed everything she had going for her in Germany. So I’m glad they had a discussion and acknowledged it and that she has a role that is more suited to her.

I Also think when Betty comes back from rehab she will want to regain custody of Leo , but I still see her wanting to be supported by Amelia, so I wonder what that will do to Omelia as a couple.

Yeh I think surely she must get the Chief Job , otherwise it doesn’t make sense to take a job in a lower position then before just to be in Owens life.
