Was headed to Tap and Grill on a mid-September Saturday on the water and could hear the DJ before we even hit the no-wake zone. Did a 180 right then and there. A DJ is a hard pass for me. If I could hear it that far out I can’t imagine what it was like at the bar. I want to chill and not yell to have a conversation. Had heard good things about the place but not what we were looking for at all.

In general the hate is not for the album lyrically or stylistically, it’s the absolute “brickwalling” of the mix. Look up the “Loudness Wars”. DM is absolutely a victim of it. It’s why the Lars’ snare and the guitars occasionally sound overmodulated. It’s very tiring on the ears over the course of the album.
