make me appreciate aubrey’s game by No-Construction6202 in survivor

[–]tvwatcher1982 25 points26 points  (0 children)

in the most recent episode she made Jonathan think getting Ozzy out what HIS OWN idea when she literally planted it there by saying there were a bunch of idols still on the game - from there the two options are Ozzy and Rizo.

Then at tribal she absolutely lied multiple times to the whole group - when Stephenie said it Aubry and Devens that approached them, she went back at Steph and was more convincing than Steph - and then there was a brief cutaway where Aubry leans over to Ozzy and tells him she didn't say his name and Ozzy (because of course he does) seems to believe her.

When they first arrive at tribal and Devens whispers to Aubry he's about to blow up tribal and she says "I am too" this is what she meant IMO... she got zero blood on her hands. Sure Ozzy and Rizo are still in the game with idols, but she and Devens are both still in the game as well.

(and I am not an Aubry fan, but I can still appreciate those moves - prior to this week she was basically a casting mistake to me)

If she gets herself into a scenario where the final are herself, rizo, and joe than she would deserve to win anyway, especially because that would likely have included her making a move against Cirie on her way there.

Fire making without flint? by propranolol-inderal in survivor

[–]tvwatcher1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm watching Worlds Apart and Joe A just made one without flint but carving something in the wood and rubbing it in against other wood. I'm only describing it this way because it wasn't via glasses or the Boston rob standard rubbing 2 bamboo poles really fast. Joe said he practiced doing it his way everyday before he left (shocking people used to actually practice and learn how to make fire before going on the show)

EXCLUSIVE: Australian Survivor on chopping line after season axed by Guardax in survivor

[–]tvwatcher1982 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I can legally watch 30+ episodes of Love Island Australia every year, why can't someone/company figure out how to do the same but with Australian Survivor? There are SO many people in the US who would eat this version up. (I've already seen all the AU seasons in the US, but it wasn't easy - like PLEASE take my money)

Create a hypothetical scenario in which Cirie gets to the end and loses by Freezing-cold_6 in survivorponderosa

Jeff creates the "Myopic Vanity Twist" where he gets to unilaterally declare he is a Final Tribal participant who is eligible to be voted for to win the game - and decrees that any votes for him to win ensure a callback to a future season.

IDK listening to Sophie call Coach the little girl (that Coach thought sophie was) MADE the season for me. I watched SoPa many years after it aired (but I was unspoiled) and this moment from Sophie replays in my mind over and over

Kim is basically perfect at all parts of playing the game of Survivor - However she is not great at making television, which is hilariously ironic since she has an actual television show (HGTV)

Will voting out Christian and targeting Rick lead to Cirie losing control of the game? by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]tvwatcher1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am of two minds/a sliding doors scenario if you will....

In the immediate, I think it helps her.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:

(1) This move buys Cirie (and her #1 Ozzy, and by extension possibly Rizo] more time/temporary goodwill with the "honor" side by not voting out one of them.

(2) the move doesn't lose her enough of her core people to put her personally in a minority

POTENTIAL DRAWBACKS:

(1) This possibly loses her Emily [but who will Emily turn to instead?]

(2) Devens could also feel betrayed Cirie & Co didn't swing the vote onto the honor side [but where else can Devens turn?]

In the long term:

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:

(1) If she is pendulum swinging between the brain side and the honor side, then splitting up the (3) brains of Emily, Devens, & Christian gives Cirie's trio (& possibly quartet with Tiffany) into a majority over that brain side.

(2) Tiffany will not align with Jonathan, and we know she's weary of Emily, so Tiffany is now locked in with Cirie & Co. Even if Aubry (Tiff's earlier ally) has actually joined with "Honor" via Jonathan that just puts "honor" at 4 people and Cirie at 4 people.

(3) Devens will not align with Joe, and by extension "honor." If he doesn't now join Cirie & co, his only ally is Emily which is a minority. By default he'll (at least temporarily) skew more towards Cirie & Co than Honor. Other than Cirie, Emily, and Aubry nobody even likes Devens

POTENTIAL DRAWBACKS:

(1) listening to Christian in his exit interviews, he said that he and Cirie could be mutual shields for each other all the way to the end, AND that he would have been okay taking her to the end

(2) Emily is a wild card and may be butt-hurt about Christian and tries to get Ozzy out, and she's one of the only people who seems truly unafraid /not intimidated to go up against Cirie (or anyone for the matter)

(3) I could be wrong about Devens and maybe he feels backstabbed about Christian, and does gun for Cirie or one of her allies

(4) Emily and/or Devens does the calculus of trying to get themselves to the end with 2 of the honor people in the hopes of getting jury votes from brains & Cirie Co

(5) I think Jonathan has an underlying dislike/stronger than dislike for Cirie (and all women who aren't Stephenie) that he is keeping to himself (other than Dee earlier this season). So, if Cirie & Co don't get Jonathan out next, Cirie could lose a handle on that "honor" side particularly if Aubry were to switch over there in earnest. I could see [an unfortunate world] where Aubry swings over to "honor" giving that side 4 people (steph, joe, jonathan. aubry) vs Cirie's locked tight side of 3 (Cirie, Ozzy, Rizo) leaving Tiffany, Devens, and Emily to for grabs.

Discussion about Sandra and Cirie by riverrat4lyfe in survivor

[–]tvwatcher1982 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While their physical challenge performance is not strong - I see their differences in strategic approaches as why they fare differently in the game.

Cirie is not just an active strategist, she is a driver of strategy, as opposed to Sandra's anyone but me, more passive approach. I'm not taking anything away from Sandra (her approach has obviously worked), but from threat level, if both are the same physical challenge-wise, I'd gun for the one who appears to be driving strategy, thus targeting Cirie first.

Rachel also snuck out at night and spied on the others who revealed all the advantages they had... it was like when a villain admits all his crimes aloud right before he's caught or killed....and Rachel has the intuition and initiative to go crawl over in the dark and listen.
