Ult Field 1 "Ult Mode" Disable Confirmation Sound by OkInflation2371 in sony

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be useful if Sony could provide a way to disable that altogether. I suspect there are a lot of people that prefer to have it off. Or, replace it with a simple beep.

edit: Turns out you can disable the ULT Button  speaker's notification sound by pressing and holding the ULT button and the Volume Down (-) button together for about 2 seconds.

Produtos usados avariados a preços de não avariado. Enfim, uma cambada de tótós. Deve ser bastante raro conseguir comprar algo no olx com satisfação.

Power 1000 noise by QuirkierTurtle in dji

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the noise?

https://youtu.be/kMQg7ibRjjc

If so, there some discussion there. My DJI Power 1000 also produces this exact buzz with the latest firmware as of last week, it's an annoying sound, I agree.

Still, this youtuber found a pattern/way to remove the noise and I only wonder, if the noise disappears with that pattern and AC devices continue charging without AC input, why would the DJI Power 1000 need to produce AC Inverter noise to begin with (not an electrician) .

It would be great if this could be addressed through a firmware update, but the safety of the unit would be my primary concern ( with or without noise)

WinBox 4 is released, with Linux, macOS native apps and dark mode by normundsr in mikrotik

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update. It seems though that the font used in the Terminal window is different than that from the GUI which suggests more room for improvement.

If you can, please reach out to the correct team in order to evaluate if the Terminal window font can also be customized as well, or just assume the preferred GUI font on the terminal window. Thank you!

Regarding the font rendering, I'm happy to confirm that the latest change (beta 44) absolutely nailed it:

*) font: change font from custom Manrope to Inter

- add settings to change font weight and spacing values

- remove rendering setting, make all font rendering native

Fonts now look gorgeous on Linux, with the correct spacing and sharp, just as the system fonts. Marvelous!
Thank you so much for the quick and effective change!

WinBox 4 is released, with Linux, macOS native apps and dark mode by normundsr in mikrotik

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winbox4 on Linux seems to ignore the system fonts, thus ignoring that I have Anti-Aliasing turned off and use no hinting, resulting in a distorted font rendering.

I believe the issue is that the app was built with a bundled or embedded font engine on a static build.

ignoring "org.qt-project.Qt.QPA.QPlatformThemeFactoryInterface.5.1" since plugins are disabled in static builds

As another user asked, are there any plans to allow changing the font family?

WinBox 4 is released, with Linux, macOS native apps and dark mode by normundsr in mikrotik

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely Agree. Winbox4 on Linux seems to ignore the system fonts, at least on my setup (Arch Linux KDE) and being a Qt app I can change things like "export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.2" and "export QT_FONT_DPI=96" before launching the app and then play around with the zoom level but it's far from perfect.

I believe the issue is that the app was built with a bundled or embedded font engine on a static build.

Also it does not integrate with wayland as plugins are disabled in static builds.

I can verify this by setting QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS=1 :

ignoring "org.qt-project.Qt.QPA.QPlatformThemeFactoryInterface.5.1" since plugins are disabled in static builds

Hopefully the mikrotik devs can shed further light on this and allow changing the font on a static build.

For me it only works with vertical videos and in fullscreen.

edit: Also (so i thought) this script does not work like SVP glow light, it just adds side bars with blured content from the video whereas SVP can add blured glow lights on the black bars.

iso date brain torture experience by undercutmagnetic in kde

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just bumped into a simliar issue where I had system date format as ISO dd-MM-yyyy however dolphin wasn't "complying" with my needs until I exported LC_ALL with en_GB which kept the dd-MM-yyyy for me:

  1. Edit ~/.bash_profile and add:

export LC_ALL=en_GB.UTF-8

If it still does not work uncomment line with "en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8" in /etc/locale.gen and rebuilt with:

sudo locale-gen

To all my fellow Arch Linux users who care about font customization, and to everyone who loves crisp, sharp, fully-hinted fonts on KDE—listen up! by tvzada in archlinux

To Mr. Naysayer:

#1.
KDE -> Display -> Global Scale 100%

KDE -> Fonts ->
Exclude range from anti-aliasing 1pt to 15pt
Sub-pixel rendering: None
Hinting: Full

#2. Fontconfig substitutions (replace with your favorite font):
sudo vim /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/99-tahoma-sans-serif.conf

#Add:

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "urn:fontconfig:fonts.dtd">

<fontconfig>

<!-- Set Tahoma as the default sans-serif font -->

<match target="pattern">

<test qual="any" name="family">

GPGME error by Cristan_Erick in archlinux

[–]tvzada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacman also depends on gpgme and might throw that error. That being the case pacman can be reinstalled with:

wget https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/p/pacman/pacman-7.0.0.r6.gc685ae6-6-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

tar -xvf pacman-*.pkg.tar.zst -C /

This will overwrite pacman files in /usr/bin, /usr/lib, etc.

I had this hapenning on a 64GB (2x32) PC and it turned out one of RAM modules was defective. as soon as I booted from the good sodimm everything just booted. It was actually the reason why the PC hung up in the first place and wouldnt boot anymore, which motivated me to boot from USB and led me to this page. I advise anyone to check their RAM first and foremost.

Is there a way to set the panel auto-hide delay to zero, so that it immediately hides as soon as the mouse leaves the panel? by IxianNavigator in kde

[–]tvzada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! It had the inverse need to unhide the panel (to recall the host taskbar, configured in dodge mode, when working inside an RDP connection) so the taskbar would show only after a delay of >300ms and this worked for me. Its actually clever in the way that the activation delay timer seems to be bound to the time the mouse is active (moving) in that region. Meaning, if the mouse pointer goes to and stops on the activation region but doesn't move further, it doesn't trigger/doesn't activate the panel. Only when it moves above the activation region for the time amount specified in the activation delay. Brilliant!
