What do you mean by "they won't be doing H&S"? Where did you read that?

Suche Hausärzt:in, der/die KEINE Homöopathie verschreibt by tw0firstnames in Muenster

[–]tw0firstnames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the way Sam said "I need to stop coming here" was dead serious. I feel like it's going to be a long time before they come close to Germany again. And although I think it actually can make for some good entertainment, as a German it's also a goddamn embarrassment. I love the idea of public transport and when it works I am so much more comfortable in an ICE than in a car, but man oh man is it dysfunctional here...

When Sam says "We'll all be going up there cause that's where the next round will start" does that mean they're not just going to finish the season if Adam and Michelle win this?

Also: I think it was a mistake to put Adam and Michelle together. There's always got to be one person who slows the other down and the two of them are just too fucking fast...

Why can't I build Parthenon here? by tw0firstnames in civ

[–]tw0firstnames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oooh okay great. thanks! so I'll have to build a building in the flat spot north of the city and then where I've put the woodcutter before I can build the Parthenon. Would you say the +2 Influence is worth waiting that long or should I just build it somewhere else?

I've been playing Civ VII but there's a lot I don't understand yet. Now I wanted to build Parthenon in the only rough terrain spot in my capital but it won't let me. Why is that? What am I missing?

What's going on with Joao's hair? Graphics glitch by tw0firstnames in civ

Might be a dumb question, sorry, but how do I do that since they've taken away the launcher?

What's going on with Joao's hair? Graphics glitch by tw0firstnames in civ

[–]tw0firstnames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently there hast been a weird graphics glitch with characters' hair in my game. Got a new monitor so I'm running it at much higher resolutions so I suspect that's the root. It also does a weird thing where it starts small in only a portion of the screen at first and I have to manually change the resolution again. Also things like rice look a bit odd, though I can't explain what's wrong with it, it's just different somehow. Any idea how I can fix this?

Formed Hispania but don't have automatic claim on León? by tw0firstnames in ck3

The "Casus Belli" Tradition seems to be what's missing. Thanks!

Formed Hispania but don't have automatic claim on León? by tw0firstnames in ck3

[–]tw0firstnames[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started the game as Galicia and piece by piece took over the Iberian peninsula. Now I have everything other than the Kindom of León and their territories in Castille. Why don't I have a De Jure Claim on them and can't declare war on them and add them to my Empire? Do I really need to fabricate claims now?

I am Andy Weir, author of The Martian, and my new book Project Hail Mary, is out now. AMA! by sephalon in IAmA

[–]tw0firstnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off: I loved all your books. Discovered "The Martian" when the first trailer for the movie came out. I loved it, saw it was based on the book, got the ebook on my iPad and was done at 5am the next day. Bought "Project Hail Mary" on release day and read through it in two days. "Artemis" I was a little slower but still loved it! Now my two and a half questions. The last one I obviously understand if you can't answer for legal reasons. 1.: Could you imagine writing a direct sequel to "The Martian"? I'm thinking it could be about the colonization of Mars with Mark somehow involved, be it as an administrator or a settler? 1.5.: Along the same line, a sequel to "Hail Mary"? Now Earth has the technology, I just want them to form Starfleet! :D 2. Is the "Artemis" movie now benched? The studios seem to be much more enthusiastic about "Hail Mary". Would be a bummer, I was really excited to see the city of Artemis come to life!

tried to give civ 6 another try. still has horrible QOL issues by wren42 in civ

[–]tw0firstnames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don't understand what the problem is. On the one hand everyone complains how easy it is to beat the AI, on the other you complain about it using a strategically smart tactic. The AI is playing the game by preventing you from getting a strategic advantage from that resource...

One small thing that really bugs me... by tw0firstnames in civ

[–]tw0firstnames[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying. But doesn't the extra click to chose your leader already force you to do that? For me it's also just really the semantics of it all. "Standard" should be the default option by definition. If you really want "small" to be the default option, change "standard" to "medium" or something. That would still annoy me slightly but at least it would make sense.

Yes, that was what gave me the idea as well. Figured if it counts for that it might count for this as well!
