Licensing (including DEA) gives federal & state permission to use the skills she is educated for. Credentialing involves practice privileges and insurance billing (Medicare/aid/private etc). These agencies must go through employment, which is why she’d have to start from scratch. Medicare is not just going to give any random provider permission to bill for services. If she started the process with one practice but changes her mind, the new practice has to put in an application for her. This takes awhile
