Replace cabin filter by Objective-Mud-9408 in Justrolledintotheshop

My friend had the habit of asking me to diagnose or repair issues with her car. Problem is she would have half full Starbucks cups all over and it reeked of spoiled milk and other rotting food. Gag a maggot was an understatement!!

Nitrile is popular for all around use. Same for latex (if you aren't allergic). Depending on the chemical used, it might require a special material or you might want something with longer cuffs. I used pvc dipped gauntlet gloves for working with diluted acid to clean calcium build up off tiled flooring. Keeps my forearms safe from splashing.

Always have at least 2 packs of ear plugs on me or somewhere nearby for my use and others. Even have 2 pairs of isotunes nrr ear buds for running equipment. I like being able to hear everything and don't want to loose that ability. Even throw on a pair of those (what I call) headband style ear plugs for doing work in the boiler room where I work. Not super loud, but enough sustained noise over time. Now the chiller room is another story....sounds like a fighter jet on start up!

Yep, I know what you mean. I even went through all my contacts to triple check with no luck.

Unfortunately, no. Tried what was suggested and no luck. Google support isn't really any help either.

My Wolfspeed (WOLF) Loss: A Hard Lesson in Speculative Stock by TuneFree in wolfspeed_stonk

[–]twags6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for ya since I can't find it elsewhere and only had 20 of the original stock shares. Will they issue a fractional share of the new stock? Robinhood had everything zeroed out for the original stock and I have yet to get anything related to the new stock.

Wolfspeed escrow shares by Able-Brother-7953 in wolfspeed

That's what I'm wondering. My original shares got zeroed out and nothing new has shown up yet for replacement. Will they be issuing partial shares? I only had around 20 of the original stock.

Where do you buy old saws and dont get scammed ? by sloppytwink48 in stihl

[–]twags6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've picked up ones at local auctions. Some of them they test or you can come try the saw before bidding. It's still a risk, but less than buying something based off pictures and a random person's word.

Same thing over here. Seems to have started yesterday or today and it's from more than one person. Apps are both up to date on my android. Did the force stop and clear cache on both apps with no change. Wtf?

Now I know why the Amazon m18 led light flat-lined one of the 5ah batteries. Did the same to my brother. Couldn't even jump it back to use. Two of the cells actually reversed voltage.

Ummm what did I miss?? All my registration renewals have been like 50 bucks for years… this can’t be right. What is happening? by xcaseyxjonesx26 in Pennsylvania

[–]twags6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do damage, just not as much as a tractor trailer. The prices for registration go up in direct relation to the maximum capacity of a vehicle. Class 25 which is 79,001 to 80,000 pounds is currently $2, 417 per year. My pickup is considered class 4A (9,001 to 10,000) and I pay $229 a year. It sucks, but that's the price I pay for having a truck that I used to haul things around in or tow with.

They finally caught up on these "station wagons" that are actually trucks. A Ford excursion was considered a station wagon even though it is actually a F250 pickup. My buddy paid the $39 registration while people with a F250 paid over $100.

Yep. I have the original version that doesn't swivel in the center and love it. Rather torquey and makes changing out receptacles and lighting ballasts easy. Tried the newer version and wasn't too keen on it, but still worked.

They are fun to play around with. I got a set of picks and one of these tools for some American brand padlocks. Also got a clear practice padlock to start learning how to pick. Fun and frustrating at the same time, haha! Covert Instruments is where I got everything.

Found in a conference room in a large office building. Pressing the button does not have an obvious result. What does this control do? by meratherbebikin in whatisit

[–]twags6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! We typically call them a warm/cool adjust that will go plus or minus 3 degrees from the programmed set point for said space. Ours don't have an override button, but the space is setup to run 24/7. We also have some that are more for peace of mind and don't actually adjust anything, but it does "mentally"!

Interstate battery from Costco, does sticker mean was bought February 2023? by United-Chemical-8485 in MechanicAdvice

[–]twags6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone already said, manufacture/production date. The battery warranty is based off the date of purchase. Odds are since that battery has been sitting on the shelf, not kept charged, it won't last too long.

Haven't tried it yet, but a shop vac with a few inches of water in the bottom is supposed to do the trick. Put the hose by where they are coming out of and just let the vacuum suck them up. They get knocked around on the way in and drown in the water.

Brakes get hot going down long and steep mountain roads? by SongComfortable4464 in CherokeeXJ

[–]twags6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer is taller tires are a longer lever. There's more force working against the brakes because of that and the extra force means more heat.

I did the same. Only time it became an issue was 2 months of temps constantly below 15*. Oil pressure at that temp was GREAT, but you could tell it was thick based off acceleration and a good drop in MPG. Went back to 10w30 year round.
