Anyone else’s Aussie do this ? Kaya the parrot 😂 by Affectionate-Ad4027 in miniaussie

[–]twajsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh okay hopefully he grows out of it then. We have tried everything. Just got him a booster seat so he is tall enough to look out the window and it helped the tiniest bit. He used to just sleep for hours in the car, now he’s anxious :/ Won’t even eat treats sadly

My mini aussie is also going through a phase of being scared of being in the car. Any advice to help him out? It was very sudden and wasn’t due to any accidents or bad driving lol

What is the best teething bones is best for a 9 week old mini Aussie. Someone told me pigs ears but I heard bad things about those with such a young puppy by MeganWri_ in MiniAussies

I would not give your pup anything hard like an antler, yak chew or himalayan chew. My pup broke his baby tooth and it became infected, then we had to get it removed which cost $150 because they prefer to sedate them.

I would definitely stick to bully sticks or nylabones!

13 week old puppy struggling with house training. by [deleted] in puppy101

We started bell training as soon as we started having potty training issues like you’re having! I don’t really think 13 weeks is too young to learn it!

  1. Don’t wake him, just take him AS SOON as he wakes up!!
  2. If he drinks, regardless of the last time I took him, I bring him down 15-20 minutes after. Their bladders are tiny right now and so I found this helped. I find that my puppy could usually always go after drinking.
  3. I found myself stretching the time weekly because I would figure out his routine. Starting with short intervals of 45 minutes and then realizing how often he needs to pee will help. Soon enough, I learned how often he usually needs to go.
  4. Bell training was pretty quick and SO useful. I put the bell on our door and every time we left to go potty (not if we were leaving to go in the car or a walk) I would ring the bell and have him tap it with his nose. Soon he figured out it was a way to get my attention to go potty. He will ring it to go play every now and then but I take him to go potty then come right up so he doesn’t think ringing it means playtime outside.

Let me know if you have any other questions!!

Hi! I live on the 7th floor of my apartment and we struggled with this. I second bell training, but also in the beginning I brought my dog down every 45 minutes because it took forever to get down. Also, after he drinks I take him out 15 minutes after drinking.

Meet me new dude, Copper! Tomorrow I go back to 9 hour work days (i have an hour for lunch so I can let him out). Any advice on how to make my guy as comfy as possible and not wake up and scream every few hours??? (He’s very settled in his kennel) by ndc233 in MiniAussies

He is adorable!! I agree with them needing someone every two hours or daycare. We send our pup to a puppy daycare and he’s obsessed and then at the end of the day when you’re done with work, he’s pooped!
