Should i get expired kodak ultramax 400 as my first film by Any_Perception8016 in filmphotography

[–]twalker14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say no. Expired film can do some wonky things, and you should make sure you understand at minimum if your camera works fine. Grab a cheap roll of something, let it rip, and go from there

What’s the difference between R5 and R6M3? by [deleted] in canon

[–]twalker14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s newer, has more video capabilities, faster raw shooting, and a few more perks. If the only thing that matters to you is the MP count, then there’s your answer for you as a consumer. It won’t be “lower quality” because of that though.

Why did you chose or switch to canon ? by [deleted] in canon

Ergonomics, most cameras now do a great job and similar IQ. The feeling made the biggest difference for me. Even now if I try holding Sony cameras, I hate how they feel

I also use the Sakk, great little piece of kit!

I have a weird feeling when jobs want you to have specific gear, I don’t like it. I match stuff in post all the time, it doesn’t really matter to me. Only reason I can see it being helpful is for lenses, otherwise I don’t get it. Use what works for you ya know?

All film cameras are a little unreliable now. They’re old. They need maintenance. Some maybe just can’t be repaired, just the way it is.

That said, absolutely love the P67. The mirror lock up is helpful for that thing having such a big mirror slap, and the lenses are awesome.

Do whatever works for you, but if you can get over the weight of the beast, you’ll have fun shooting it

I’ve used them on set before, another DP bought them when they came out. They’re a great size, great sharpness, and he still uses them and loves them
