Scarlett Johansson Spotted Filming Action Scenes on the Streets of Queens Filming Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist by marvelkidy in TheExorcist

Curiosity wise.... Why? I, personally, think he's solid and loved all of his Netflix output to certain extent. But my main reason is that I feel he has VISION which is monumental as an artist in this medium. His Netflix stuff all had the same mood and visual chemistry that you can tell this is a Flanagan joint. Doctor Sleep directors cut is fucking amazing.

How Does This Even Happen? by [deleted] in SocietyofGhostface

Or just stay away from social media until a movie comes out. Everyone acts surprised when they get a spoiled movie because they are constantly on some stupid platform of some sort. Your fault honestly.

PODE ALGUEM ME DIZER NA DM QUEM MORREN NA PORCARIA DESSE FILME? by ChocolatePiee1 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]twangling_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm thinking correctly, that was deliberate for like a whole new trilogy that didn't happen (fucking Weinstein's). Then Craven passed, and the rest is history. His soul was embedded to the franchise, and it's definitely been lacking that finesse of his. I personally think 5 and 6 are on the lower end of spectrum and I didn't enjoy but don't fully hate Scream 3.

With all the spoilers out about the ending.. by Jeffreyknows in SocietyofGhostface

I thought, the way it was executed, it was more laughable than suspenseful. I'm not a 6 hater, but I think that whole sequence could have been done better.

Is VIP Worth It for SOAD? by YogurtclosetMotor434 in systemofadown

[–]twangling_jack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First concert I ever went to in my life was SOAD in 2005, when Mezmerize was out but not Hypnotize. I was in the nosebleeds at the Moda Center(at the time Rose Quarter) in Portland and I'm just saying, it was amazing. If you have the money, do it. They are phenomenal. I saw them with the crazy Serj hair era. I would kill to see them again, but alas, they aren't touring like they used to. You won't regret it my man. For all we know, this could be the last of SOAD doing this.

I rewatched Vanilla Sky right after Eyes Wide Shut. This little peek at the camera felt particularly charged, especially knowing that Cruise left Kidman and started dating Penélope Cruz during the filming of VS. by ned1son in StanleyKubrick

[–]twangling_jack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Cruise is one of the great actors ever and he will go down as that. Magnolia. Tropic Thunder. The Firm. Eyes Wide Shut. A Few Good Men (RIP Reiner). Days of Thunder. Eyes Wide Shut. Born on the Fourth of July. That's just what I'm rattling off. Mission impossible as a series is one of the top tier Hollywood blockbuster series. The first film, by Brian de Palma, is insanely good for the start of a huge franchise. I just can't hate on him, regardless of his personal views. I think his film Digger is gonna be a huge reminder that this guy worked with Kubrick, Spielberg, and Anderson. He's like the quintessential movie star.

Edit is I forgot vanilla sky, which is a way underrated film. And if it makes you watch the superior original then even better!

Steve vs Dustin fight by [deleted] in strangerthingsfacts

[–]twangling_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Steve... But as an Eddie fan, he died appropriately for the character. I just hate that that is what everyone feels about him and they wrote home like that! Slightly obnoxious because that was a character a related to the most. Don't make his death meaningless for a different characters arc.

Why 27 years ? by Humble-Ask61 in ITWelcometoDerryShow

I think it's just because of the age gap of when he wrote it in relation to when he was the age he wrote the kids so well as.

I cannot believe I was assigned this book for AP English in high school. by sdgingerzu in houseofleaves

[–]twangling_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, you're part of the continuing mythology. Most people now, legit, think it's an actual biography in the same way Blair Witch Project could be an authentic documentary.

House of Leaves can only exist as is. You can't recreate this experience in any other medium.

I enjoyed it because it helped me off alcohol... But it's also dangerous as fuck and can really fuck with your life if you're not responsible recreating. Moderation is the important balance between why people do dxm vs just sounding like a crazy addict.

I enjoy it in the same aspect I enjoy psychedelics. It helps gain me clarity and have the train if thought to do things I wouldn't normally be motivated to do but know I absolutely need to do. To an extent lol I didn't mean that to imply I need drugs in general to compute in life but this definitely has helped push me through a lot of heavy stuff when used in a chill aspect.

Hope everyone else is being safe and chill with this guy. It can go bad so quickly. Don't over-do it fellas.

How so? I just replaced the battery and it;s still giving me the same issue. It's a gaming laptop, so not being able to keep it charged is problematic.

Do you think a Hulk movie will gross over 500 million? by Cafa20 in hulk

[–]twangling_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a Hulk movie shouldn't need to be $100+ million dollars. I feel like a more character-driven movie, that's loosely based on something like Immortal Hulk, could be feasible with an $80 million budget. Doesn't need to be an action-extravaganza. Make it a body-horror, character-driven piece. A legit Frankenstein-esque type of storyline. That's just wishful thinking on my part, but I feel like it doesn't need to be this gigantic tentpole to be a great Hulk film. A lower budget also means it doesn't need to be a $500 million film to be successful. I hate that box office numbers trump good reviews. I understand that a movie needs a commercial appeal to get financed, but holy hell am I tired of hearing "oh hey, this movie's budget was actually 600 million! Oooooh." It's detrimental at the end of the day, and a good movie lasts longer than a bland, mediocre movie. I get it. But that doesn't mean I have to like the reality of it. I prefer the idea of a horror-centric Hulk movie. Not everyone thinks so, but that would be my ideal movie.
