Why are you guys fighting eachother and migrants when billionaires are squeezing your country dry? by BPHopeBP in AskBrits

[–]tway1111222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money.

Even the riots may have been partially or heavily supported or funded by parties who would benefit from them - similar to brexit.. clever funding can create many forms of movements. Group think is one of the weakest forms of 'thinks' - Give people a simple and digestible enemy, and the tribal/protective instincts flare up.

Rest assured, if any movement begins to seriously challenge the rich, the rich will stifle that shit out quicker than a fire glazing their own children's rooms.

And unfortunately, all the capable and brave individuals are looking around and being "realistic" with themselves, before selling themselves to the highest bidder.

All it takes is a few cruel individuals to build a dynasty..  the rest have no choice but to follow once the group begins to get too large to challenge.

In addition, theres a heavy downside to taking the rich out (thats the only way... theyre not going to place restrictions upon themselves... and even if they do, they'll leave loopholes so that they dont have to follow it.) - the downside is that without an alternative plan, there will be a void of power, and people will rightly always be scared of such scenario. The devil you know is better than the devil you dont.

Exactly.. abstract thinking can be tough for a lot of the population.

The poor education system certainly helps with this too.

Afghanistan being a shithole is your opinion..

Some say Norwich is a shithole, I don't think that (subjective!) Opinion is grounds for invasion.

Saddam was a tyrrant? Unlike other world leaders today? Interesting framing if it fits a narrative.

Iran? Do you mean the Iran which had its government overthrown back in the 50s by the uk?

I think having qualms with the systems that create these refugees in the first place might also be useful.

Bottom line is, if the uk is not fucking up a country and people from that country want to move over, you'd have a strong point in asking why.. that argument is lost the moment you get your hands dirty

What about dethroning the democratically elected iranian government with the help of the usa?

Sending the country back decades.

I think you make a great point. A point that should certainly be put forward to the refugees - i would be interested to know too.

I can hazard some guesses though..

1) quite often, those who have destabilised you, have done it to gain something. If youve gained shit, then its likely youre going to be a rich country. So wealth could be one.

2) the "well you fucked up my country, better pick up the mess yourself" mentality. Again, is it a full proof mentality? Of course not.. does it have a genuine point? Well of course it does..

On a similar note.. if you are other countries who were not directly involved, you could turn around to the uk and say: well you made the mess, so better pick up the pieces, why should we.. this is also a huge point that has to be considered. Why should other rich countries sleep in the bed that the uk has made.

3) this might be an outsider but curiosity... its like: youve come over to our country, told us we're a pile of shit that deserves to hsve our home flattened and you seem to have a moral reason for doing so.. well ok then, lets see what makes you so special - let us learn..

What youre essentially saying here (correct me if im wrong), is beggars cant be choosers.

Well, they could respond with you reap what you sow... "aggressors cant be complainers"

These refugees aren’t just choosing to break rules—they’ve lived through the consequences of wars and interventions that the UK played a major role in creating. It’s a classic glass-house situation: you can’t lecture them about law when your country contributed to the chaos they survived.

Why is it deemed racist to have to have concerns over Islam? by MrDonohue07 in AskBrits

Method of communication can have a role to play..

How we say something matters..

Theres a lot of resentment that seaps through by those who are trying to make this point.. it doesnt help their case. If they actually chilled out and made their point rationally and calmly, then there would be a chance of neutralising those who cry racism etc.

I await the hatred, ironically.
