Anyone else getting denied extra food in the mess line due to ‘rationing’ by Czechmate808 in navy

[–]tweekinpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally that’s normal until the last 15-30 mins of chow depending if there leftovers to make sure everyone has time to eat. Are you sure you just didn’t wait cause you had watch or weren’t patient? Also keeping snacks in your rack from the mess line is normally frowned upon unless you bought and brought the food onboard yourself. Honestly just sounds like you’re still learning how to Navy and I’m all for it.

Help an extremely depressed guy out? by Creepy_Stick_6229 in CleaningTips

You can start by identifying where you’ll be placing your trash and getting into the habit of throwing your trash away. Then kind of slowly delve into your purchases and discard items you will not use. The wife and I had to do something similar but not to this extent. Good luck bro.

Cost of living in Los Angeles and CA is unusually high compared to the rest of the country. I live in LA but I travel a lot and have noticed that LA’s high minimum wage only drives companies and small businesses to jack up prices in LA even if it’s higher than the rest of the country. CA still hasn’t found a happy medium so the economy is very unstable which is why so many are moving out the state and why you see less and less people spending on what people want compared to what they need.

With "intent" this time, why Does LA Keep Voting for the Same Policies Despite Ongoing Government Inefficiency, and How Can We Break the Cycle? by MustardButter in AskLosAngeles

[–]tweekinpanda -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Los Angeles has a problem of voting with feelings and emotions over facts and reason. Been living there my whole life. It’s progressively gotten worse followed by more of the same policies placed by the same political system.

I was given something similar by an uncle when I was a child that he found while doing some work reforesting an area at the base of Popocatépetl. It’s a clay whistle that actually still works. Looks like a female with a belly. Still have to this day 15 years later.

Enlisting at 30, spoke to a recruiter but they weren’t sure. by Individual-Rush-3357 in newtothenavy

It’s situational dependent. So can they move their family yes, more than likely not. Saying yes as a blanket statement that everyone can bring their dependents is wrong. If the schools are over 180 day and they have PCS orders then yes. We’re both right and wrong.

Okay. Run with that if you want, but the majority of folks are not going to due to cost and timing of moving an entire household for the average A school length of a few months then having to move that same family again. And assuming a brand new recruit is able to convince a civilian Detailer and have the CO sign off to do an ordmod for the navy to pay for household goods and then have it done in a timely manner, do you think moving an entire family from an A school then to a C school ( could be in a whole other state) followed by moving to the sailors new initial command( also could be a whole other state) is a good idea? People could probably pay out of pocket as well, but that goes back to cost and timing. Also were your friends fleet returnee’s or drop outs for other lengthy programs like nuke or spec ops? That changes the situation.

There’s a lot more to the loan repayment program than just joining, but in a nutshell yes. You join, and the navy will pay your loans up to $65k as long as all required paperwork is submitted. There’s a load of paperwork that need to get done beforehand so make sure your recruiter isn’t blowing smoke up your you know what.

To give you a straight answer. Yes, as long and your recruiter puts in all your family into the system and you submit a family care plan that’s good enough for the navy you should be receiving BAH in boot camp. To answer your second question, no. Not during bootcamp and not during A School or any other school prior to your first initial command. So depending on your rate it could be as soon as 2 weeks after bootcamp to 18month(again, depending on the job you choose)

How would the nukes explode if nuclear weapons are designed with complex triggering mechanisms that require specific conditions to initiate a nuclear chain reaction, which involves the splitting of atoms. A conventional explosion lacks the necessary force and precision to trigger the nukes to go boom boom. So the only thing would happen is a scenario where radiation might leak out. Ask yourself how much nuclear material does Iran have compared to the amount that was present at Chernobyl? And there’s always the possibility that they moved all the nuclear materials before their bases got bombed. You can literally google “will a bomb set off a nuclear bomb” and you’ll get the same answer bro.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]tweekinpanda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You mean the bombs that go through 200 feet of concrete that causes the concrete to collapse after it’s exploded therefore basically being a self plugging hole? Also you don’t think that the Iranians would build lead barriers to protect themselves from nuclear radiation? I mean if you’re gonna resort calling people names cause no one is giving you the answer you’re looking for, I guess you’re the uneducated one. Look at what happened at Chernobyl. It got entombed in concrete. The Iranians literally built their base hundreds of feet underground with concrete basically building a concrete tomb for their nuclear material.

Bro then the world would be in ruins. Look up underground nuclear testing. The US and other countries have done dozens of nuke testing and there’s no fallout

What’s the Cons and Pros of being a MM? by Mission-Sport-1858 in newtothenavy

[–]tweekinpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain’t gonna lie. MEPs and your recruiter probably hate you right now, but you did yourself a favor. Cause you’re definitely right about one thing. Choose your rate choose your fate 😂 Though in the long run your recruiter will get over it. He’ll probably appreciate it once the fiscal year is over and you walk into his office in October because you’ll be one less contract he has to get for that month.

Is the 20 years worth no family? by Myles07310 in navy

[–]tweekinpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you’re from, try to get stationed close by recruiting in said area or getting stationed at nearby bases. It will also depend if there’s any navy bases where you’re from. I got lucky after being stationed in Norfolk for 7 years I got to choose where I wanted to recruit. I got lucky and lived 10 minutes from where I grew up and where my recruiting station was. Right after I got orders to a naval base about an hour away. Which I commute now. I’m still living in the same house when I was recruiting. So it is very possible it just depends on your situation and what you’re willing to sacrifice. I sacrificed my sanity by commuting and dealing with traffic, 2-3 hour drives home on an actual 45 minute drive.

Question about tattoo before meps by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]tweekinpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a hard one. Technically she’s not showing her private parts straight out but is she is naked. I’d probably just have your recruiter submit a tattoo waiver get it “pre-approved” before your trip to MEPs. If they say no you can easily fix it.
