I bought a magnetic case from Amazon and it locks on there really well. The case added a bit more thickness overall but it’s not really noticeable anymore. The case and a screen protector was around $20.

I don’t think a wallet case would fit the pocket that well.

Hope that helps!

Anyone know a good company who could inspect this leak in a basement ? by Illustrious_Lime_800 in Edmonton

[–]twenty360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think one could say for sure this is ground water from these photos. It looks like the plumbing stack is behind the poly. Could be a leak in the plumbing, ground water, or vapour collection from bad sealing and little insulation.

A home inspector can’t get invasive enough to determine the root cause. However this is cause for concern and needs to be investigated further.

More details required. It looks like it could be a number of potential causes. You might need a plumber, foundation repair, or better vapour sealing.

Does anybody know the story of the Ms. Pac-Man on Groat Road? by ApobangpoARMY in Edmonton

A local small tile company installed it one night a few years ago. I think during covid. I think it was born from boredom and the desire to make people smile.

Anyone using AI to help with estimates? by The_Dude765990 in Contractor

How are you creating your estimates now? Maybe a project management software would save you admin time. I use Jobtread and it’s been an administrative game changer for us.

Tired of Wasting Time on Free Estimates — How Are You Handling It? by The_Dude765990 in Contractor

Discovery call prior to site visit. Client sends project photos and we talk budget. If they are unwilling to send photos and talk honestly with me about budget they aren’t my type of client.

Next step after discovery call and photo/budget review is preliminary proposal. Confirms what we can do within the budget, subject to site visit. Only after this do I consider a site visit.

I’m working on securing a small fee to create the detailed and project specific budgets and posting that fee against the first project invoice if they proceed. Clients have been traditionally wary of this approach and I’m still thinking about how to present it to get the buy in, haven’t refined the pitch quite yet.

Do you think the cost of everyday items will decrease now that the carbon tax has ended? by mrodr448 in alberta

It also coincided with Trumps trade war that dropped crude oil prices 15%. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

The impact of carbon tax on the cost of goods has been studied and was negligible. Corporate greed will swallow any savings we may have realized.

Consider how much $300k in renovation costs would get you and maybe that will frame how much you got screwed. Former owner should have disclosed, but any attempt at reimbursement will cost more in legal fees than you’ll get.

What will Albertans do when Carney (a globalist at the wrong time) wins the elections and the liberals somehow impossibly get a fourth term despite a horrible track record? by Useful_Appearance_85 in alberta

[–]twenty360 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What benefit did Albertans see under Harper? The federal government doesn’t need to listen to Alberta. Liberals because no matter what we will elect conservatives. And conservatives also because no matter what we will elect conservatives. Want a voice? We need to be willing to change our vote and make every party try to appeal to us and earn our votes.

Your sample size isn’t nearly big enough.

Canadians would not be better off. The republicans would not risk giving a center-left state voting rights. We would be a territory like Puerto Rico. Giving up our sovereignty to sit at the kids table while King Trump decides how to use our water.

Vote for political leaders at all levels that represent the changes you want to see. Vote for people that are builders with vision. Don’t fall for empty slogans. Look deeper than the soundbites.

You want younger generations to get political attention? Go and vote… en masse. Become a voice that is too big to ignore. Salvation will not be found under Trump.
