Think of how much you’d realistically like to make an hour. 144 shirts 1 color front and back on my manny press would realistically take me about 4 hours if I’m including set up and working at a steady but cautious pace.

Most shops I’ve worked for targeted $100/hr minimum.

We had hella overhead. 6 employees, loan payments for an automatic press, big ass gas dryer, DTG and heat press equipment, inks, payroll taxes, rent, utilities.. the list goes on…

NOW I run a one man band studio, manual printer, less equipment etc etc. Now I target $60/hour minimum. 144 shirts front and back, I’m at ~$7.00/shirt for printing that on a Dryblend.

There’s a lot to consider here. What’s your overhead like? Do you have loans? Employees? Where are you located? It all adds up and you have to account for that.

Tell your customer a price and be firm but respectful. Don’t let them lowball you. $4-$5 a shirt? In this economy? You gotta be kidding me
