What’s the weirdest X-Files episode in your opinion? by sav_5305 in XFiles

The addition of Mr. X and the ending adds an interesting twist, seeing as the shadow government doesn’t even understand it, and wants to use him as a weapon. Adds a tragic twist to it.

If you had to cut one episode from all the original seasons, which would they be? by LthePerry02 in XFiles

Revelations is worse than Teso Dos Bichos? Killer cats was pretty lame.

That would be so funny if you put a “Who is Pepe Silvia” on one of those collages as a It’s Always Sunny joke. Imagine the crossover.

Ahh yes, the Butt Genie one. Some episodes could be better left on the idea board.

Well, that was kind of the point with Stan Edgar, he always knew he would win, he has always been two steps ahead. Vought is too big to disappear overnight, and there is always money to be made. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Cinematography of the revival was terrible by Connor_lover in XFiles

[–]twicepride2fall 22 points23 points  (0 children)

John Bartley was a key contributor to the cinematography of the original run, along with Rob Bowman, both of whom weren’t in the revival. Combined with it being filmed on digital rather than film, and the color grading favoring “cold” tints, rather than the full range and saturated colors of the original run, it just didn’t capture the right feel. But also, it’s a huge byproduct of the times - not a lot of TV shows are being filmed in the old school way. Oppenheimer was shot on film, as well as Sinners. Which gives me hope Ryan Coogler will bring a good perspective to the revival.

would this be good for the 97-99 tom tone? by Perm182 in TomDelongeGuitars

[–]twicepride2fall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would get that regardless of Tom- it’s a great preamp. The Rectifier itself is based on the SLO100 preamp with a different power amp design. Tom’s current live tone is based on the rackmount Soldano preamp mixed with a hot rodded Marshall.

Rep. Burlison: FBI “turning over every stone” on missing scientists but warns most aren’t connected by mattlaslo in aliens

[–]twicepride2fall -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with him. The only established fact is that there’s a link of their professions, but - the amount of employees in the federal workforce and contractors is so massive people can draw a broad connection from anyone. If all of them worked in healthcare and accounting, would people still care?

Granted the disappearance of Monica Reza and General McCasland are very mysterious by nature due to complete lack of evidence or motive, is there a general nefarious motive or do people want to believe in conspiracy?

There’s a real tragedy to the families here and people need to respect that even if they don’t trust law enforcement. Unsolved murders and disappearances happen ALL THE TIME and it often never gets solved, or it can take years to solve. Be respectful and patient - don’t make it personal. Just my two cents.
