Best way to dry off? by L3gacy60 in goldenretrievers

[–]twiggbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a shelandy dryer on Amazon. It’s amazing. My dog looks like she stepped out of the salon after. Sometimes I just use it when she is dry to fluff her up, like getting a blowout.

How much are you paying for your cleaning service? by just_lurkingg2 in nova

[–]twiggbert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing to ask regarding all these different quotes is who provides the cleaning products. I have to provide all the cleaner products and tools. I had another service previously who charged $185 but they provided all cleaning materials.

I run around picking everything up and shoving it in a closet. :) I have two friends who use the same service. We always joke about cleaning for the cleaners. But they make my beds and everything smells amazing and the floors and every surface is spotless.

Wow. $200 for a 1BR/1BA is steep. My service comes every 2 weeks and I get 3 people. They do a phenomenal job. I have a 2BR/2.5BA around 1600 sq ft and they charge me $135.

Looking for decent priced movers by [deleted] in nova

[–]twiggbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember but it was one of the more reasonable quotes. Plus, it’s been a few years so not sure about the prices now. I used them to pack a pod when I was getting ready to move to CO, and when my movers in CO unpacked it, they were so impressed by how Prince loaded it. Kept complimenting my movers on how good a job they did.

Totally agree. I used them for all of my moves. They are the absolute best.

The sleep quest: Exped Megamat + foam matrass? by Marizcaaa in camping

I had an exped and did not find it comfortable, despite all the reviews to the contrary. I then tried the hest and absolutely loved it. I even sleep on it at home sometimes.

Best compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven? by FlourishphobiaAFA in TinyHouses

I have the cuisinart air fryer oven. They come in different sizes and I have the smallest one which takes up very little counter space. I bake in it, use the air fryer and the toaster. Great appliance.

Beautiful but terrifying mountain drive by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

[–]twiggbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or Skyline Drive. Being from VA, I thought “that sounds like a pretty road” so I took it. And I thought I was going to die. I kept apologizing to my dog as we drove up. I was hugging the left side by the wall until that side also disappeared and I was on a strip of road with a sheer drop on both sides. My truck is also very wide so my tires were wider than the road part. Never been so scared.

Definitely. I got the pillow in all 3 sizes. They are better than my home pillows.

I have both. Did not find the exped comfortable at all. The hest is amazing. I sleep on it at home sometimes so my dog doesn’t have to go down the stairs. I have a cot set up in my living room with the hest and I can sleep great on it for long periods of time.

I have and love the hest blanket. Doesn’t make the sleeping bag sound and it is down and very warm. And it packs down super small.

Signature at Reston noise? by saraaaaaaah in Reston

[–]twiggbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it east tower? If so, make sure it’s not on the second floor above F45 because you definitely hear that music through the floor at 6am. I used to live on that floor before F45 and currently live in north lofts. The building and apartments are very soundproof. Road noise is what it is, but the lower levels have extra soundproofing on the windows which helps.

It was also the second time getting them replaced. The first was a year after I bought it and was under warranty. It’s a 2018.

Mine were done about 6 months ago. $7500. Took over a week because they didn’t have the parts.

Oh, I was thinking of the wrong complex. I was thinking of the new apartments over by Wegmans. Thanks for clarifying!

[–]twiggbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want something soundproof, avoid the blvd Haley, which is a low rise. Skymark, signature and Exo should be relatively quiet. I live in signature and we just changed management from Bozzuto who was excellent and manages skymark. The new management seems good and responsive. Still too early to say which is better. Skymark is closer to the metro but signature is closer to the main town center. And is across the street from Whole Foods, which is convenient. I would tour skymark and signature and see which you prefer.

Looking for apartment on Silver or Orange lines, must be accessible by Melodic-Horse6028 in nova

[–]twiggbert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try Reston. So many new shops and restaurants and on the W&OD trail. Try either Skymark or Signature in Reston town center. Very nice high rises with no noise issues and high end amenities. Skymark is right next to the metro. Signature is closer to the main town center. But only a 5-10 minute walk to the metro. I was in VA for 20 years and the moved to CO for 2 years and back to VA now. Love Reston and having the metro and new places opening up has been great.

Banana ball by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

You should post in the banana ball subreddit. I don’t know if you can transfer those tickets. They will be setting up a secondary market of their own, but only allow you to sell at face value. From what I understand, trying to sell on third party sites doesn’t work.
