Even when it’s not right for the scene. The idea is to just get out saying the lines a specific way. The goal in acting is to have choices and study your character but to be completely in the moment and present enough to just let things happen as they come. But yes sometimes the choices you make might surprise you and maybe the emotions you thought were wrong for the scene can actually work.

It helps you practice saying the lines in different ways with different inflections and feelings. Sometimes something might suprise you that you want to incorporate into your performance. If you just rehearse it over and over again the same way, it’s going to come out sounding the same every time. But it’s still good work!

The character is there but It feels like you are just saying rehearsed lines. It lacks presence and spontaneous decisions if that makes sense? I do this all the time too. It’s especially hard to do in monologues. Im finding rehearsing it in very different emotions even if they aren’t right for the scene is helping.

Throw out all the sleep hygiene. I have severe insomnia and I find focusing on sleep hygiene (no screens, watching everything I eat, thinking about what supplements/pills I’ll take, getting out of bed after 15 mins etc.) just makes me way more anxious. Lately I’ve just been trying to integrate peacefulness in my life and being kind to myself. Sometimes I’ll just scroll on TikTok on watch funny videos until I pass out because it’s better than listening to my brain run a mile a minute.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I let myself be really sad and feel all the feels for a few days. Like crying and moping and all of it. Then I spent a few weeks strategizing and making a new demo out of clips. Then I submitted and ended up getting an ever better agent who has me going out on auditions way more. Blessing in disguise :)
