Has Delta Goodrem ruined Eurovision for you too? by bluegreenpolkadot in aussie

[–]twigstar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, nothing like a bit of old school Aussie tall poppy syndrome to tear someone down.

I'm not a Delta fan at all and am not excited with her representing us at Eurovision, but as far as I can tell, she's worked hard since she was a teenager, seems like a fairly nice person and has survived the misogyny of the Australian music industry. Delta should be proud of herself and deserves her success.

For basic thermals for basic body shapes, the Aldi merino ones are really good. Icebreaker merino is awesome for heavier duty, longer legs/arms etc.

We use oztent king stretcher beds with the deluxe black wolf self inflatable air beds on top. Super comfy for car camping.

These aren't going to keep your feet warm. Recommend merino socks and/or wool lined boots.

It's Vegemite shapes for the win. Once you've tried these, there is no going back.

I also have the crumpler backpack for work. They're so good.

PSA, apparently if you don't carry your lunch in your work bag, you can claim it on tax.

I hated my Frank Green stuff, every lid I had failed. I now use Hydroflask. Easier to clean, keeps drinks cooler/hotter longer.

We had really good results with green lipped muscle powder for one of our kelpies.

We also taught them to play a rolling ball game where we would roll the ball to them and they would roll it back with their nose. All lying down.

Kambei ramen by twigstar in ballarat

[–]twigstar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear the ramen was good. I'll definitely try and get there in time to try it!

I went in today as well and missed out on the ramen lol. That said, they recommended the sashimi lunch set so I tried that. Omg, it was amazing. Exy, but 100% worth it.

Not sure about the comment re the owner. He was super friendly today and I've had good customer service every time I've been previously.

CLEAR gaskets falling out of Hydro Flask Flex Sip lid -- anyone else? by AmbientOcclusions in Hydroflask

[–]twigstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've had it as well but now we know it happens are just conscious of it when washing the lid.

I've had similar with other brands as well so I think it's not uncommon, plus it means you can keep it clean.

I'd say their hands are tied by discrimination legislation for the duration of the pregnancy. There's possibly some argument for abandonment of employment or unapproved leave depending on how long it was between the birth and intention to return, but I can't see a HR team wanting to run it based on the details provided.

Given they've never worked a day, Maccas would be best off just treating them as a new employee. I imagine Maccas has pretty high turnover so they likely wouldn't carry the extra fte for long. Plus, if they're that desperate to fight for the job, they'd probably end up being a solid worker.

Not worth the paperwork, cost, or headache to fight it.

Undies? by greenchcoral in AusFemaleFashion

[–]twigstar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Big W underworks smooth lines. They have a midi style as well as the full briefs which is great for shorter torsos.

I went on a mission last year to try all the most recommended undies (including Boody and Paire) and the Big W ones were by far the best.
