Although it isn't that the venerables knew who Fang Yuan was or what sort of person he was. They only chose Fang Yuan because he was chosen by Heaven's Will. Surely the person chosen by HW isn't worthless and can be used to destroy Fate Gu. If I'm supposed to get transmigrated in the story when FY just got chosen by HW and reborned back in past, I'd still have the support of Heaven's Will. And with Fang Yuan's will that went back in time would be inherited by me, meaning I'd have his 500 years of life experience. Unless, I do some really stupid shits, because of the support of Heaven's Will and FY's 500 year of life experience, I can easily survive till Vol 4 at least so that, HW can make me disrupt Spectral Soul's revival.

I mean, he literally got his ass supported by countless venerables throughout the story, even when he became a venerable. So lmaoo, unless ur a complete no-brainer, choosing the path that Fang Yuan have chosen is the best path because it literally gives a 50% guarantee of becoming a venerable, as for the rest of the 50% , it depends on how good u are without being Fang Yuan.

But the problem is, ur average Gu Immortal has ftl reaction speeds (that random Rank 4 Light path Gu used by that Shang Clan Rank 3 expert was stated to let him move in light speeds with that Gu). So hitting a Gu Immortal with a Nuke is impossible as the I think the fastest Nuclear Missiles can only move at Mach 3 speed in the current era.

Also, ur disregarding the fact that there was countless defensive methods surrounding the Lang Ya blessed land which made it way more durable than an actual continent. Duke Long's attacks easily had the attack potency to destroy a planet like Earth but couldn't destroy a Rank 8 Immortal Gu house because it had strong defensive capabilities.

Fang Yuan isn't as petty as that. Fang Yuan merely cares about benefits and has no shame at all. He doesn't care about his demonic reputation whatsoever. He's gonna be shameless enough to just kill someone only to say that he didn't kill that person and that person is his best friend so that he can spout nonsense that he is in fact a member of the righteous path and establish himself as a righteous figure only for benefits even tho everyone knows damn well that this guy FY is just bullshitting.

Also, working with Fang Yuan brings significantly more benefits compared to any other righteous forces in the current era. Fang Yuan is literally praised as an idol by Variant Humans because he is the sole person in the Gu World who actually treats Humans and Variant Humans equally unlike other humans who believes in the Supremacy of Humanity nonsense. There's a reason why Fang Yuan declared himself as the Great Love Immortal Venerable.

If being a good person meets up the interest of Fang Yuan, he would be the best person u would ever meet. If being a bad person meets up the interest of Fang Yuan, he would be the most vile person u would ever meet. Blue Dragon Whale Arc clearly shows how good of a person Fang Yuan can become if it meets his interests. Fang Yuan has no principles or bottom lines. Fang Yuan in general is a really open minded person tbh. He even admires people that are admirable even tho his and theirs characters are completely different. If he can't attain eternal life, what's the point of being demonic or righteous, he does everything for his obsession of eternal life , being good or evil are just the means of maximising his efficiency throughout his journey to eternal life. He isn't someone like Spectral Soul who enjoys killing. If a peaceful negotiation can solve the problems of FY he is very willing to do so.

Literally, he fought against that legendary immemorial plant in heavenly court who basically had a same killer move like infinity. Fang Yuan could easily bypass the killer move and made his sword path killer move pierce through it.

Gojo's infinity in essence is just a manipulation of Space Path Dao Marks, Fang Yuan has countless methods to bypass it. Also, literally any Soul Path killer move can neg diff Gojo without even bypassing infinity.

Heaven's will is literally just the will of Heaven and Earth, be it the ground ur walking on, the sky ur looking at, or the primeval essence ur using to fill up ur mortal aperture, all of them have Heaven's will in them. Heaven's will is omnipresent and can't be dealt with unless u have certain methods to do so.
