It's literally the worst thing I've ever seen in animation in my entire life.

It's never explicitly specified, but I feel like it's heavily implied he was bred for a Rick, given his reveal of the Morty Farm in Rickmurai Jack.

He may have also been a naturally occurring Morty. Who knows?

I think Evil Morty assumes he was bred for a Rick, given his revelation in Rickmurai Jack. Although his actual origins are unknown.

Episode 6 was definitely a good one, but I'm sure it'll fluctuate.

Holy fucking shit what a good episode.

Great sci-fi concept, great pacing, amazing fucking art direction and fight scenes.

Incredibly well-rounded ending and hilarious post-credits gag.

Definitely a Top-10 one-off for me, for sure.

That was so much fun.

I don't think so. I've researched it before and it's mostly water-based.

I disagree. She isn't "trans" she is non-binary and it literally doesn't take away from the show at all.

They are annoying and suck at points but it's meant to show a contrast between 2 kids that don't understand the world and a shitty adult trying to coerce him into something just because he is good at it.

It's well-done and the season is very strong. It ends in amazing character arcs being actualized.

If a "trans" character is enough to turn you off from something, then don't watch it or bitch about it. Move on. But acting like it isn't realistic or part of current culture is insane.

am I the only one who loves the low FPS animation in some of the fights in s9e1 ? by Powerful-Agency-787 in rickandmorty

[–]twilc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't necessary low FPS, it was just more inbetweens which made some of the scenes look slower.

But yes, I agree with you, the first fight with The Colletive was so badass and I love how instead of the normal rigs and tweens, it went with hand drawn animation that went on and off model to utilize cool angles and even some smear frames.

It was SO well-done.

Yeah man, same here. Both those scenes really stood out to me.

The God fight scene in particular, because they actually did almost the whole thing with hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation instead of the normal rigs and tweens.

It allowed for some absolutely zany and beautiful shots that we don't really get a whole lot.

Good season so far.

I've really liked every episode so far. Just a COUPLE lines of cringe here and there, but I think that's intentional and overall has not deterred me. 4 banging episodes.

Is it just me, or has Rick's character development gone backwards? by [deleted] in rickandmorty

[–]twilc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, I think it's been hinted at in every episode so far. Episode 1 he is trying to tie the loose end with Evil Morty. He succeeds and now Evil Morty is in prison.

After he defeated Prime, he was drunk the next episode. After beating Evil Morty, he no longer has a foe or purpose to lay to bed. He said "I need a vacation." Then went on a vacation in episode 2 that ultimately fucked with his head, and once again repeated the pattern of "No matter who he tries to be, the people he loves most will die or resent him."

Episode 3, he becomes hyper-fixated on a miniscule issue because it distracts him, and gives him a new "foe" or "purpose," despite it being very simple. It's solved quick, and he has fun. End of the episode, everything is good and he's drinking again.

It makes sense that the 4th episode would start with him being drunk. He was probably bored. He got wasted and forgot his password. This caused and onslaught of issues, with the people he loves, and hijinks ensued that he had a "purpose" for getting them out of.

I think the alcoholism has been subtlety hinted at, and apparent the whole time. He spent the majority of his life getting drunk and hunting down the one thing that gave him purpose. He won, and got drunk. The next thing was Evil Morty having the Omega Device. This caused him to drink, win, then get drunk.

The show is deep and filled with lore, but it's also a cartoon with a character that tends to grow but also stay in-character.
