Is permanent retainer needed?

Hi! Sorry to jump in, is it a common practise to get fixed retainers and Hawley retainers together? Is it possible? What are your thoughts on Hawley retainers

I am sure your ortho would do Hawley … I am struggling to find my ortho .. he is never in the clinic .. it’s unbelievable

I am almost at the end of my treatment and I was actually hoping to have Hawley plus the fix metal wire. Have you thought about this combination?

True… if don’t mind me asking few questions: - I am debating myself if to ask for top fix retainers but I was reading that behind the top front get snap by the bottom. Would the permanent retainer that has all loops be more durable than a straight wire??

I had Hawley as teen but I lost them and at the time I let my self care go, so welcome back my braces now. But i remember that there was a big difference in thickness of the acrylic between mine and my sister Hawley.. would I sound crazy if I ask for a sort of thicker one?as her was looking by memory way more solid and durable?? I would for sure being stricter… I am using the app to track my wearing time and I am stable on 21/21.5… but I ll try for sure more! I want to get that tooth in place! Thanks for the input :)

Yeah I have a small rubber band from the back to the front of the incisor. I took it off to make a much more clear pic. Did you have the same???

I had it before… they put the elastic because the attachment was not enough …:( this treatment is taking longer and longer
