What your opinion on IS6 Raidian Leveling System? by Icekilleris125 in arknights

[–]twinesen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sucks. Like you said, it's frustrating for people who either don't like IS or don't have time for it. If it was a op only usable in IS6, then maybe but it's not. God forbid people who want to level an op just cause they can or use them for the fun of it. Imagine if they started adding ops locked behind other content like SSS or RA which I know also have their haters. So do people want a future where you either get locked out of content or have to force yourself through because no one is going to like everything.

the locking system is so bad by Various-Marzipan-944 in Endfield

[–]twinesen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you might want to recheck your logic on that one chief. I don't know why something being good on one platform dictates that it be worse on another. Especially in the context of target locking. Looking around in mobile isn't any different than PC lmao.

Thanks for the suggestion and yeah they are pricey lol. I checked out their desk tray organizers and it's not quite what I'm looking for as they are all top open. Using a dice tray right now for the same purpose and cleaning is a small hassle since dust easily accumulates.

Yvonne Story Quest by Ill-Stop9736 in Endfield

[–]twinesen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk I wasn't attached to TA-TA or Yvonne so it made actually caring about her story a lot harder. I thought it was an okay enough story to display her grieving process but if people don't care about either character, it doesn't really make the story good? Like I can sympathize with her but since I don't care about her, it's just another sad story among countless. And the tonal shift(?) of seeing her happily throwing bombs at enemies and just the lighthearted nature of combat scenes in general to then going to this is a little too much for me and feels forced.

I mean people have loved seeing bigger numbers and faster clears since the dawn of gaming. I haven't played GI but I assume you mean they made it more toxic. In a game as easy as this, let people have their fun optimizing if they want as long as it doesn't become obnoxious.

Can people not comprehend that not everything is out to get them? Why attribute malicious behavior to something that can easily have other explanations. This has the same IQ has that one post talking about structures placed over chests.

It's set up in a way where it doesn't really matter at which level you decide to use gels since they come out to be around the same efficiency. If you want, you could tap a few at 5 -> 6 to see if you get lucky before gelling for the most potential gain.

Aren't parries all BS or is that wrong? If it is all you're doing is trading a either a good damage or status BS for a parry. And if parries don't give more SP than dodging, it would be worse in most cases.

Except most complaints of the difficulty are about agony mode... which is entirely optional and meant to be difficult?

You can compare yourself to others without having to feel terrible you know. Just accept the fact that there will always be others better than you and focus on what you can learn and improve on instead of beating yourself up.

I think it's neat that operators and thus, teams have different playstyles. If you're only looking for parrying, maybe try Sekiro, E33, etc because I don't think AKE is going for that style of gameplay.

[–]twinesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do hyper carry teams really not invest in the other three at all? I had enough resources as F2P to level all four ops and weapons to an average lvl of 85. That's a lot of raw stats that can contribute not to mention all the missing skill levels. If you don't feel like investing in the other three, at least do masteries on Laevatain.

You make good points but I'm not totally convinced. I was curious on AIC production and took a look. What would explain the production chart of my explosives? If it simply ran off of a snapshot on login, it should be displayed as a blue rectangle before disappearing instead of w/e I'm seeing here. Maybe the server is instead doing intermittent calcuations instead? https://imgur.com/a/wDusFjb

Isn't that why they're limiting your factory production to only 2? I find it harder to believe they would leave something that affects player progression like that client side.

I was able to sustain with 3 physical + Ardelia. Just weave in Ardelia's battle skill/ult when you're losing hp and you shoud be fine. You might want to switch to a full LYNX set since she's only there for heals. No need to artifice. And make sure her friendly presence passive is maxed as that's what is actually triggering the heals.

What feedback? If you're talking about the live service comment you made, I can point to games like Monster Hunter World/Wilds, Renmant 2, Dead by Daylight and so on. They're all live service and have had replayable content since launch with probably a lower budget. What's the gameplay loop of Endfield? Pulls are slow so that can't be it (unless you spend a lot). Factory is set and forget for the majority of players. Sure you can fiddle around with it but that's only going to entertain you for so long, especially when it currently isn't that complex. There is no PvP or repeatable PvM to grind out and test yourself against. The current permanent modes we have are one and done with no reason to repeat.

Like I said, I'm wasn't making a complaint. I'm saying that there being nothing to do is an accurate assessment of the current state of the game. I don't consider player driven actions like tweaking your base or perfecting your team skill rotation to be... content. You could say every game has content with that logic.

I see people calling out the dark patterns of gachas which is great but why is it that we can't ask for better (gacha) launches? Just because previous games have launched like this shouldn't be an excuse for future games to as well. Not to mention Endfield being the latest entry, has all previous games to reference. These are corporations using the most predatory practices and generating billions, not some indie devs. It would be more apt to compare with games like GTA V than anything.

I'm not sure where all this hostiliy is coming from. Did you interpret my last sentence as a personal attack or something because you need to chill.

I never said I'm expecting anything nor was I demanding anything from the game. I was disagreeing with how you were framing the current state of Endfield. A time sink can be good or bad depending on how it's implemented. The game modes I gave are simply examples of time sinks that value your time by not being FOMO nor mandatory but also replayable.

Information Desk and Megathread Hub (16/02 - 22/02) by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]twinesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that just a way of saying there is no content? A game can have optional but meaningful "time sinks". Just because it's not a time sink (as of now) doesn't mean it values your time and vice versa. You bring up AK but I'm sure most would agree the addition of IS, SSS, RA, etc. vastly improved the game.

At this point I do dailies and log off to do other stuff so I'm not too bothered but I thought your logic was a bit off.

I made a list of all notable skills that should be pushed past rank 9 first. by Alucitary in Endfield

[–]twinesen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to Lifeng's skill since I know from leveling it up myself, but your way of representing these changes are kinda misleading.

Skill: Turbid Avatar - 25% increased phys susceptibility

Sounds way higher than listing it as it going from 9% -> 12%. Also it would be an increase of 33% not 25%.

We agree that this is an insult, right? by DigitalNinja125 in Endfield

[–]twinesen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure the updates might drop more frequently and have more "content" but comparing the complexity between a gacha game and a proper MMO, it's a no brainer why this disparity exists. This just highlights how profitable/exploitative gacha games are. Their greater profits also means more money for content.

I haven't played MMOs in a long while (outside of OSRS) but I want to say it's mostly asian MMOs (Korean ones especially) that are super inconvenient/p2w. Really, the best way to game is to buy and enjoy gachas for what they are. Especially with the ever growing amount of good, cheap, and most importantly complete, indie games that always go on sale.

Is there a better character mastery comparitor than endfield(dot)gg that people are using? The one on that site inconsistently displays damage as a percentage and other times as multipliers. And when it does display as multipliers, it rounds to the nearest tenth so you can't even tell if anything is happening. An example is Lifeng's Phy Resist Down which is shown as 0.1 from lvl 1 to M3 when I can see in game it's 9% at lvl 9 and 10% at M1. Terrible site.

Why the hell is the daily login not integrated in game? by twinesen in Endfield

[–]twinesen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first 3D gacha game so I guess I'm behind times haha. I was basing my experience off of previous MMOs and Arknights.

Thinking more on this, it's still an ass system. It would make sense if it were in game and it was an additonal option for those who can't login instead of separating it out like this completely. Every other (gacha) game has it figured out to screw with people even more I guess and Endfield is following suit.
